Er, dunno. The nice man in the harbour office gives me this pretty little round sticker thing, and all the nasty spotty yoofs that go round extorting beer vouchers from honest boaters seem to leave me alone

Doesn't that infer that you're a dishonest boater!

With weather and numbers still unclear, I called in to The Weatsheaf at Yarmouth today on the return trip from Newtown Creek and have provisionally booked a table for twenty for 12.30 on 8 Jan. The chef has been advised that the majority will be ordering nachos.

I know the landlady knows my name but I was impressed (although others may not be surprised) that the head barmaid to whom I spoke also did! My fame (or infamy) precedes me!

The reservation is expressly weather dependant and it and the final numbers are to be confirmed by me by telephone on the morning. Any more for any more?

David

David,

Could you put me down for 3. As ever weather and crew mutiny dependant!

If you keep organisinig these trips I'll never get my boat winterised, usually been put to bed for at least 6 weeks by now but this is much more fun!

Hi Pete,

Yep, we are going from Lymington and we can be as early as you like as the kids are staying over at their grandparents' house the night before... FREEDOM

This will be the first time my wife has been out in this area so it would be good to see some of the sights - Alum Bay, Needles, Hurst Castle etc

I'd like to come and meet everyone in the Rib fraternity, would be coming from Christchurch, and will have wife and kids, we went to Lymington two weeks ago and survived so anything less than about 3 metre swell will seem a doddle. How can we check on the day about times and confirmations ?

For a 12.30 lunch at Yarmouth , maybe you'll be out of the run at 11.25ish ?

Looks Like 2 boats from Poole who could meet up with you ? message Avocet (as the instigator) maybe ?

Alex - maybe 10.00ish at Lymington ? Assuming its calm & nice with a less than 10knt wind for me to get to the Needles and back in one piece in Streaker.

Theres no info on the Hurst website Pete, maybe it's because I'm using an imac?

The real time info from your lounge window sounds good though

It can occaisionally break as its pretty exposed out there. The same site can give you Yarmouth, Portland and Lyminton I think ...

Do you guys mind if I tag along? I fancy a bit more of a run than just over to Yarmouth.

Looks to be shaping up as follows:

From Poole (suggest leaving Parkstone Bay Marina 11.30):

Avocet, Mrs A and Scurvy Crew
Oscarguitar + 2
Longjohn? + ?

From Christchurch (Poole boats will be passing just before midday):

Mudbug? + 3?

From Lymington (via The Needles) (leaving 10.00):

Whisper and Mrs W
PeterM + 1
Ian M + 1/2/3?
Nathan K

From Southampton (leaving 11.15?)

Neil Harvey + 1
TrevorG + ?
Mark241 + 2

Final numbers and any additions or changes, let me know. Propose that we use CH72 and if anyone who hasn't got it wants my mobile number please PM me.

David

Parkstone Bay Marina to Christchurch in 30 minutes! It's lucky there is no speed limit in the harbour this time of year. I have a feeling that may be above my best economical speed!

If the weather is like today it will be perfect.
