Due to the forecast and having friends join us who are travelling some distance, I am going to call off attending. Whilst the Parker is more than up to it, the prospect of the wind against (Spring) tide on the return leg to Poole with passengers, is not a sensible (safe) passage.
More than happy to attend on a more favourable weekend with a few days notice.
Steve

As long as the wind stays predominantly southerly we're still intending going for it - once we're across to Cowes the shelter from the Island will hopefully make the run up the Solent to Yarmouth not too bad.
The final call will be made Sunday morning of course!

Still a bit windy but there isn't a cloud in the sky, going to be a lovely morning

Mmm, my forecast now shows heavy rain, gusting to f7 in the afternoon.
I think I will buy a ticket to the boat show instead.

I think the conditions are very unstable and hard to predict - there is a definite lull coming at the weekend - but I am not sure the forecasters can tell the period. I have a feeling either Saturday or Sunday will be good.

Your probably right. Each time I look it changes, every few hours.
Im three hours drive away, so I cant pop down when the sun comes out unfortunatly.

I'm offically 'out' for Sunday . I just cant see the weather backing off enough (without heavy heavy rain) to make it a fund trip - even from Lymington.
The pornrider will head off to its new home without ever having to suffer the indignity of MattH abusing it ....

I have to launch today and leave in the water until Monday (boat yard does not launch at weekends this time of year !). With the current forecasts for torrential rain and high winds I would rather not leave the RIB in the water this weekend. Therefore I am out as well.

I think I am going to pull out too. If the weather holds out Sunday morning, I may go for a spin around the bay from Cobbs though. The forecasts predicts worsening weather in the afternoon, and like 250kts, my crew will not appreciate the trip back from Yarmouth in those conditions.

I also have to decide today, since dry-stackers not working tomorrow. In the words of Dragon's Den - "I'm out".
The plan was to come with the kids, but I don't think they'll see the funny side of being pounded for a couple of hours. Next time.

I was informed last night that number one son is going back to university on Sunday. "If you are not going out on the boat would you help him move back in?"
So what with that and what appears to be a limited attendance, I'm afraid that I am another one who is out
