Yes looking better 6kn to 14 kn for most of the day average chance of precipitation 15%
average sunshine per hour 23 mins and barometric pressure 1012.
Things may change though as we get closer to the date as only a prediction
Sunday the 12 th looking slightly better
9kn to 19kn 15% precipitation sunshine 37 mins per hour barometric pressure 1030
There are some nice highs building way to the west but too early to be very accurate at the moment .

Currently we're still intending to do the run to Yarmouth tomorrow. Launching at Southampton Dry Stack about 10.30 - 11.00.
Wind doesn't look to bad for the morning and veering Southerly for the afternoon so we will be sheltered by the IOW on the way back.
Anyone else still hoping to meet at the Wheatsheaf for the 1st Nachos of 2014 at 12 ish?

I am chickening out too! Cold I don't mind, wet and cold forget it, not unless it sneaks up in me. Will save the money for a better weekend!

I'm going to bow out too what with dwindling numbers and the lovely forecast. Much as I love the rough stuff I just don't fancy it at the moment.

Yes I will be there - and next week if there is another planned. What rubbish weather timings - the stars are out and quite calm at this very moment.

I am also going to back out . As I said earlier wind is no issue but not wind and rain together.
Why don't we postpone say for next weekend

I believe the general consensus is some / most will probably try again next weekend. I am definitely going out tomorrow as my RIB is on a pontoon by Lym slip which is easy - and it really needs a run. Will be looking for other ribbers at the slip from 10.00 onwards. Early on I am sure it will be reasonably OK. Will join any who want to go to Yarmouth. If any have AIS I flag as INDABA RIB.

Hopefully I'll do next weekend as well.
I'll be in the Shearwater "Blue Ray"
Must remember to take my Yarmouth Loyalty cards for once - I must be due for a free visit by now!

We're making our call tomorrow morning: Mrs A is probably a 'no show' (not feeling 100% currently and is nervous about the weather); Scurvy Crew is willing (he likes nachos) but is wary and is still down the pub. I don't really want to do another gale force crossing of Poole/Christchurch Bay but would like to maintain the tradition ......
What about the other intrepids from Poole: OscarGuitar and Long John?

It's infuriating - Hurst is down to 3kts and less at the moment - it's a beautiful clear night with fantastic stars and visibility. I am hoping as it is so cold the calms will stay with us until early afternoon.

David,
I have been watching the weather over the last few days, and dispite it getting better, the afternoon wind is still forecasted to be 20-24 knots and heavy rain. Which doesn't quite have the appeal of a nice run back in the dry. If I was based in the Solent I would go but at the moment my inclination is to give it a miss today and wait for a better opportunity.
I have been looking forward to a run, lots of new kit to try out, but I think I'm going to wait for better conditions this time.
Simon

Weather actually looking not too bad right now - but as we all know can change in an instant. Definitely not up for a another gale force return. The water (rain & sea) is cold this time of year - which it wasn't last time!
