8th Annual Nacho Run: 8 January 2017

With Christmas once again getting clos, it's time to be thinking (as some already are!) of the 8th Annual Nacho Run to Yarmouth (IoW). With it being traditionally held on the first Sunday after New Year's Day it looks like 8 January 2017 this time.

It's a chance to blow away the Christmas/New Year cobwebs and get a spicy start to the next twelve months!

As in previous years: 12.30pm at The Wheatsheaf in Yarmouth unless people want otherwise.

It always helps to notify at least approximate numbers to the pub in advance but Scurvy Crew, Mrs A and I are certainly hoping to be there! I look forward to hearing from those that hope to come and, in the meantime, with you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

David

Hi David,

I'd like to join the fun this year - will be good to give "Lunasea" an introduction to the Solent. I think pax 2 - me +1. Bit too chilly for Mrs T & the girls!

Best wishes for a festive Yule.

We'll come along from Chichester way. 3 or 4 crew most likely. Happy to cruise in company if anyone else is planning to go that way?

I always remember that time you helped me out with fuel somewhere near the needles. Thank you again.

Have you sorted you rig out Ian?

Hi Matt,
No, working and dark evenings mean I can only have a go at it at weekends where it is parked
I have the job lined up for over the Christmas break, assuming we get some dry/not too windy weather (and I am not too hung over )

A small but select number of participants to date. I attach a list that I have prepared from the information available. Any further information/amendments/additional participants will be added to the next list early next week. Hope you all had a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year. I look forward to seeing you on 8 Jan.

Hi David - I'm up for this weather permitting, but it all seems to be big boys leaving from Poole....

Hi David, unfortunately Jianna is only a mere 6.5 metres (at least that was the overall length when I bought her!). However, it is looking as though Jianna will be U/S for this one Hopefully meet up some other time.

Hi Ian M

Not sure why I thought you were a bigger boy than you were! Sorry Jianna is unlikely to be there but I'm sure Mike will be happy for you to crew with him out of Lymington if you PM him. Alternatively, we or one of the other Poole boats can dip in and pick you up. Hope to see you there!

Hi longjohn!

Long time no speak or contact! Big boys or not, we all know you can hold your own! Likewise, hope to see you there! (PS If you fancy a pint in Westbourne anytime PM me!)

All the best

David

Looking forward to this. Is anyone leaving from Southampton / Hamble?

I wouldn't class my 585 as one of the "big boys"

I'll be towing down the A34, and am still considering tge best launch point wanting to minimise the tow time and tidal state c. Half tide at launch and recovery. Am thinking of Warsash, but would welcome any suggestions.

Hi LT - I'll be launching from the Drystack at Hamble point and cruising out from there if you wanted to meet up afloat. Boat name Bystander. Blue Ribcraft 6.4
