Well I've just knocked the ice off the cover, and the sump
Given the engine a run onthe muffs - sweet-, pumped a bit of air into the tubes, and found my drysuit.
Mrs T thinks i'm bonkers, but no real change there!

Just a heads up ... chatting with Toby (rib-x 620) and Paul (bayliner) and we're all reconsidering due to the wind speed and 2m+ swell with 6 second intervals ... I'll bow to those in the "Solent know"' but that seems pretty horrible. (Was kind of hoping the forecast was overly pessimistic 😞

Given the forecast is not getting better, - 2m+ seas, gusting F6 - I'll be single handed and it's a 200m round trip tow, reluctantly I've decide to scratch Lunasea from the run tomorrow .
However I'd still love take part in the run and devour some nachos, so if anyone is open to taking extra crew / ballast from Southampton / Hamble, I'd appreciate the seat. Fuel contribution naturally.
Please either pm me or contact my mobile 07743 322835 if you are kind enough to offer a spare seat.
Fingers crossed.
Bob

We are going from SDS as is Andre. I have 4 on board with seating for 8 on my 7.8 RC, you are welcome on board providing you can cope with the spray back on the third row of seats!
Aim to be at SDS for 9ish and depart around 9.30am
Iain

Iain, Andre,
Just back from a pre-birthday meal. Thanks both for your kind offers.
Andre, as I think you are less laden with "ballast" than Iain, may I please take a seat with you. If you won't take a fuel contribution, then let's discuss something towards a charity you support.
Iain, really appeaciate the offer, and look forward to meeting you tomorrow, but as I believe Andre is currently 2, not 4 up, going with him probably balances the boats a bit better. I love the RC7.8- did my PB2 in one, which has influenced my choice of rib. Will have my Gopro with me , so with luck will get some footage of you lancing though the waves!
Will be at SDS by 0900 in the morning, look forward to meeting you both.
Regards and many thanks, glad not to be missing the run.
Bob

Obviously, each boat makes their own call on the day but I post a final List of Participants on the basis of information received.
In the absence of any feedback from the 'maybe' Poole participants, I'm assuming that they are a 'Go' and we will wait (for a short time at least!) off RYMC. Let me know if otherwise.
40 people seems like a lot to call to the pub but that's the current number: Poole boats (and Jetski) will, I suspect, have the hardest time getting there but will enjoy the trip home. The rest of you: intake lunch accordingly for your return!
Will look at the website around 9.30 to call in final numbers to the pub but after that (other than those who have my mobile number), we - all being well with us - will see those who make it: whatever boats are there are there!
CH8 for comms monitoring CH16.
Happy helming!
David

Reluctantly we're gonna bail today. The forecasts are now showing 24 kts gusting 36 kts in the Solent. That's way above our comfort zone. Hopefully next time will give us more favourable weather.
To those of you going, have a good day and stay safe.

For the intrepid souls that persevere today I'll look forward to the photo's.
25 knots of wind against spring'ish tide will make it interesting.

9th Annual Nacho Run: 7 January 2018
Hi, apologies but one again this looks a bit too lively and cold for comfort. Hope those that go have a good run. And thanks again for organising David.
