Yesterday was a corker for Ribbing, sadly I was confined to the sailing boat with the family staring wistfully at the flat calm sea!

Looking forward to some ideas of dates with favourable tides to do the Kingsbridge run

And you went soft when?

Oh, I know, it was that wave off the breakwater on thursday

Hoping to run to Salcombe on Wednesday or Thursday when wind and sea state look to have calmed down somewhat. If you can get away give me a shout.

I am hoping to be back in the water on Wed, if the weather is nice a run out on Thu would be ideal

I was outvoted by the crew - both rebelled and threatened mutiny!

They've been educated in the ways of the sea, and I have the bruises to prove it!!

Thursday could work very well for me, and with a late afternoon high tide, Salcombe or Kingsbridge would be ideal.

It was a bit of creative editing on my part but I do sometimes look enviously at other RIBs whilst I'm clawing my way past the Red Funnel (car) ferry.

Got my RIB back, looking like a boat again!

Weather looks fresh but still tomorrow, so plan to put her in late morning near Mayflower as the tide comes up

no show

Well u buggers I was there at 10.30am Monday & none of you showed!

Weather was breezy to say the least I did a run up past Bovi in Old Spice at 10.30am in to a head wind gusting 30knots + across the deck just trimmed the nose down & pressed the fun button.
Must admit we were the only daft ones out there.

John

Hi John

Really sorry I was at the fort until about 10.25. After reading Andy's post and with only a couple of people the day before when it was lovely I didn't think anyone would be as mad as me to go out. Also headed out past Bovi but turned around after 20 minutes as it wasn't enjoyable at all.

We tried, drove down, looked at the slip way, waited to see what would happen and called it as unsafe to launch

Might have got away with it had we driven over to another slip as the wind was howling down through the Tamar.

I've thrown another post up - can get to the fort for 11 and head off from there then?
