Abersoch
Ian can always be relied upon to get us on the water. In good fashion a few of us met up on Saturday. Ian, John Firth, Phil, Jono and his other half Amy and myself.
Unfortunately one of us needed a tow !
Although the skies looked dismal it was warm and like glass which made for 36mph from me and near 50mph for Jono on his new toy.
John launched his new Tornado which, following a warming up period left us all in his wake !

Jono and his Toy......never get in his wake unless you're wearing a dry suit.

Jono and Ian on the "toy" and Amy in Jonos "little" blue RIB. We may knock women drivers on the road but on the sea, beware this girl knows what she doing. She passed me and John pulling an easy 40plus mph.

Not moving, well under his own steam anyway !!! We were about 20 minutes out at 3.6 mph which gave me time to give the guys my sales pitch on the lovley Zodiac 500 I have on the drive. They were just about in ear shot !!!!! Get a longer towing line for next time Ian.

And Finally!!
After getting Ian back to base we set off once again. The whole day became worth the effort when we fell upon a pod of dolphins majestically moving at no more than 3 mph.

What good photos from that little camera even in the overcast conditions. Great to meet up with you all on my first outing.
I certainly couldn't have managed the launch without Ian, very kind of you to arrange the towing demonstration, sorry about the engine.
I'm looking forward to our next adventure
John

John, I have tried to email you with some better pics but you have your email setting turned off on the forum. I tried to PM you but your PM box is also full. You either don't like people contacting you OR you don't quite know how to get the best from the forum ? Either way, if you want some more pics send me your email address.

silly mare
That is not a tow rope, it's the reins that Phil was using whilst demonstrating his prance following his recent visit to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. He continued this exhibition in the chippie later that day and got some very strange looks from folk outside (and inside).

Still a novice in the web department, didn't know there was a limit on the PM, I'll try to fix it
Should be OK now

Looks like good news on the engine front. Engineer thinks it may need a new set of piston rings or at worst a rebore of the 3 cylinders. If this is the case at least I get a reconditioned engine with about 75hp instead of the 70 we had before.
He's taking it away next week so hopefully have it back in the drink in the next two weeks or so!

Great Pics
Good pics John, thanks for posting them, you're not such a technophob after all.
Good news on Ians Piston. Get back in the water soon mate. In the meantime, you're always welcome aboard MeMe so don't be afraid to ask. Better still pester me as sometimes I need a little prompting to get on the water. You know what a fair weather sailor I am.
