Perhaps he could pop a small signpost on his roof, and direct it northwards for us .

It seems to be collapsing, which is not reflected in the computer models (yet) but my spidey sense tells me is a good thing.
Usually Windfinder is pretty reliable, but the current prediction of SW 3-4 might be the worst case.
Edit: Jersey Met Office are saying something similar, coincidence I am sure:

I agree, the synoptic charts suggest better than the forecasts from both Jersey and Windfinder. Alderney is looking a bit breezy according to them.

Model-based predictions are moderating all the time, unless someone can see something in the charts that indicates otherwise I would plan for conditions being F3 on Friday.
We will certainly know more tomorrow.

HI, all. I am still planning to try and make this journey. Roy are you still planning a late leave friday afternoon, if all is good? I have some baby sitting issues and have to get away from work in time. But boat is all ready, im ready, just the complications.
One question, is any boating documentation, required/ advisable? eg ICC? insurance etc.

Tim will be able to advise better, but I do know that you do not need an ICC. Things here are relaxed to the point of obsession.

Customs forms part 1 completed before ye go and part 2 when you get back. If you are going to be buying any duty free Q flag to be flown 3 miles offshore .
You can take your insurance docs in case you need them but other than customs forms nothing is required as it's part of the British Isles not even your passport.
Weather still looking good 15 knots is the max wind at the mo according to various weather sites.
High tide Dover 1015 DST, so we will be going with the ebb and should have a favourable wind with tide so fairly smooth with a bit of swell.
We will return on Sunday with a Southerly wind if it stay's as predicted on the flood tide so smooth seas again in theory anyway.
Ta Tim

Might get out Sunday though, so could end up bumping into the floptilla on the return leg, we'll see. Have a fab trip folks

Just arrived from jersey. Gentle swell out there and F3 to 4 but luckily wind with tide so fairly good crossing. Have tasted beer and can confirm that it is palatable.
