I store there anyway. They can lift you from a trailer - but as a one-off it's expensive.
When I trailer launch I use the Crosshouse Hard slipway (Crosshouse Road, SO14 5GZ). It has a wide slip and trailer parking (Free) and car parking at a reasonable cost, but give SDS (02380238084) a call to see what they would charge.

Daniel
If you want to be lifted in, call Gareth at Drivers Dryberthing. They are usually quite reasonably priced compared to the drystacks for one offs

Thanks Neil. No problem launching myself just if everyone is meeting at SDS it might be convinent.
Do drivers have a facility to launch ribs now? They always used to use a crane which I never fancied but I'm going back a few years.

Its a crane but they can use strops on your front and rear lifting eyes if you don't like the idea of the sling

"Normally" we tend to congregate at Yarmouth rather than a Southampton location - it gives those requiring petrol to top-up, and if you're ready early somewhere to have a last minute coffee or loo break.
It also gives anyone starting from Poole an option to make a slight detour to meet up if wanted.

Hi guys
We are planning to be en route to St. PP next weekend and our plan involved an over night stay in Braye on Saturday night.
Now we know about the fireworks etc even more keen.
Is Braye a no go area for anyone without a booking on this night? Be coming over in a 33 ft sailing boat, whats the likely chance of a free bouy? Do they raft on bouys (so to speak) in Braye? Never been there went its been busy.
Look forward to it.
Toby

We've always just turned up with the Ribs - I suspect they will always find you a buoy somewhere, but it may be worth just giving them a call anyway.

They will raft up on the buoys if necessary, although I've visited in our sailing yacht many times and never yet had to. There's also a few spots to anchor with a sandy bottom towards the old pier which are described in the almanacs, we've anchored several times out of preference! (there are a couple of rocks to watch out for though...)

Who's planning on coming back on Sunday?
As the weather is currently looking good - Rick and his GF and I are thinking of staying on for a few extra days so Pam and Katie may be looking for a ride back on Sunday if anyone has spare seats?
Plan "B" will be for them to take the ferry from Cherbourg (the same as if the weather turns), but a lift to Southampton (or close) would mean we don't have to try and leave a car at Portsmouth where the ferry goes to on Friday morning.

Alderney Fireworks - Sat 8th August
Trevor, weather permitting I'm headed back Sunday but i don't know yet if there's any spare seats onboard as I've invited a few people.
On the plus side; I'm pretty sure I have a free voucher for Cherbourg to Portsmouth on the cat. I had to cancel a booking recently and the refund was a voucher not cash - you're welcome to it.

Trevor, others, see you down there. I plan to get down to Alderney on Saturday, leaving Lymington on Saturday reasonably early I will confirm when I have firmed up details (return Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather). Will spend the rest of the time touring the Channel Islands in Ocean Devil with my kids; Klara and Lucas.
