Back in one piece! Fantastic adventure, thanks so much to all involved, couldn't have done it without you.
Looking forward to the video Alex - mine is crap as I forgot I'd left my cam on low resolution by mistake

What a fantastic trip!
The AJ clan got back home at 23.00hrs last night as we all decided to stop off for a bite to eat at Ventnor, as the weather was superb and extend our trip back round the IOW.
Special thanks to everyone for making this such an enjoyable trip and the shuttle runs from the harbour to the camp site with all our gear.
I have had a quick look at the go pro footage and will have my first attempt at editing this week.
Great place and great people, look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I waited and waited around the harbour all morning, only to be called away at just before 11.
Sods law is clear that Avocet and Trevor arrived back in Braye just after that!

The channel island AIS receivers were not working last time I looked, other than one station in Guernsey and my one here. As such, the antics of Gotchi have not be trackable! Blue Ray and Grimalkin have passed through Alderney I believe, and Gotchi is due near Jersey tomorrow.

Indeed! Myself, grimalkin and blue ray headed down to Guernsey with the aim of filling up on Sunday but to no avail as it closed at 12.30 and we arrived at 13.00! I managed to persuade Trevor to join us down to Brehat so we spent two nights camping there. We headed down the river Trieux to Lezardrieux to get petrol on Monday and unfortunately due to an unforeseen "bump" it looks as if Grimalkin is going to need another new gearbox.....! Tuesday we came back up to Sark and I met my parents on Guernsey and then we spent a good afternoon looking around Sark before spending last night in a hotel on Guernsey while the other two camped on Sark. They headed off home this morning, and I took gotchidad for lunch on Herm. As Erin says, the plan is to go home via Jersey tomorrow, which assuming all goes well will round off a very enjoyable week!

Unfortunately so ........ Hopefully, however, the damage is not too bad: even with it, we successfully towed a 6.5m Azure RIB with engine failure from 25M off Alderney to Lymington at just over 20kts yesterday. Engineer's inspection awaited on Grimalkin but I am hoping that the gearbox itself is undamaged and that the bent shaft can be straightened rather than replaced. A new skeg can be welded and my spare prop can be substituted for the damaged one whilst repairs are undertaken to the current one. Will hopefully be back in the water within the week ....
Despite the above, it was a great trip taking in Alderney (where the reception was as friendly and weloming as ever), Guernsey, Brehat and Sark and the few extra days away provided us with the relaxation of a much longer break. Good to see old friends again and meet new ones.
We're already talking about a trip to St Vaast before the end of the season: watch this space!

Not so bad then David and a very very lucky broken down RIB you came across to get a what 40 ish mile tow in what I guess were pretty flat conditions ? Is that a record for a tow ?

Actually, the broken down RIB was one that Trevor was returning to Southampton from Alderney as a favour for its owner who had been obliged to abandon it there two weeks ago owing to bad weather for the return trip, so it's recovery in the Channel was not as lucky as appeared from my post!
As for the length of the tow, I wasn't measuring exactly but it was probably slightly more than 40M to Lymington (it was 36M to our agreed waypoint in Poole Bay). As to whether it's a record, I leave to others to stake their claims!
