Depending on others I may stay on for a few days, Jersey has no problems with me mooring,

Guernsey's h-m has said ' I will give the issue some thought over the weekend and revert in due course' ........ that was on 12th march

Yeah I guess we ought to give a little thought to the extension, our trip was a whole week last year and we would like to repeat that. Maybe Herm this time?

Is this going in the proposed itinerary as a day trip?

Could work? Instead of the round the island although it would be a shame to miss that for those who have not done it before. It was great last year Maybe a split two ways, some to Sark and some round the island?

I guess it depends on what numbers are like, if we do have 20 boats + then it's going to be a fairly hectic weekend!

I was chased up by the Sailing Club this afternoon for details of the arrival, is it safe to say that most passage plans aim for an arrival of between 12 noon and 1400 on Friday the 22nd of July?

I realise it is too early to commit and obviously weather is the biggest and shortest notice consideration, but some indication of numbers of people and boats would be great.

That's pretty much our plan, Looking like 5 (or maybe 6) boats at present

Assuming our passage plan is pretty much the same as yours we'll be somewhere around the 25 knot group in terms of departure.

We'll be posting a passage plan with the Coastguard.

Will you be agreeing on a working channel or just working with your group mmsi?

Well I look forward to meeting you then, it looks like we'll be coming down rather than up too

Channel 72 is what we used last year and is the or usually used on these things. Having flirted with the idea of trying to use the group mmsi last year - it don't work. Very few even enter their mmsi into the group anyway, and even if you go and find their mmsi's half the world doesn't really know how to use them (ie talking about the French ).

Will maybe begin to get onto the French and dutch a bit more about this as a significant proportion of Ridunan accommodation is already fully booked.

A quick Google seems to suggest Ridunian as the term for people from Alderney. Fair enough then Interesting to find out how it relates though.

I think we're pretty much all booked into one B&B, in fact I think we've taken it over totally At least the threat of camping has gone now

Looking forward to seeing you all either en route or for certain in the bar.

I fancy at least a round the Island trip, get the puffins, dolphins and seals on alert for a serious photo shoot

An historical, possibly Roman name for the Island. There's a belief it just meant island and was applied or confused with the Isle of Wight at some point

Mayday

Ermmm it looks like I am unable to come this year due to a heavy workload.
Is there anyone out there who would like to take over the organising on the Isle of Wight (Vectis) side of the Channel.

As I can't commit 100% I can only offer help or advice.
Sorry
Tim

Or maybe not, if the Solent 'no show' crew are making noises as they did last year.
