Don't shoot the messenger time. After what seemend like endless discussions yesterday about the weather patterns over the weekend, etc, etc, etc the five skippers put the trip to the vote. The overwhelming view was that things are not stable enough and that there is a concern that we might arrive OK but then get stranded on Sunday so the vote was 4 to 1 against the trip this time but we willl do it later, if we ever get any stable weather that is.

This was not taken lightly and I for one am gutted because I really wanted this to happen.

Sorry guys, I know that gotchiguy will now leap in with accusations of wimpishness but that's that.

Hoperfully we'll see some of you around the Solent or Poole during the first weekk of August if any of you are about.

If it doesn't feel right, then the only good decision is to postpone.

No doubt now that the decision is made the weather will take a rapid turn for the fantastic! Murphy and his pesky law!!

No no, not at all. Just think you're missing out. Like Martin predicted at 5 this morning - Anyway, the sun is shining hard and the sky is blue. Surely the one "for" could simply join up with Trevor's group?

Yes. Seeing as we just discussed it in person just before this post and you agreed.

I think you pair may have been couped up in a console a little too long. That's enough inane ramblings for the time being thanks.

Presumably Paul, Trevor and Avocet are still coming. We'll be there.

I may have recruited a couple more ribs from Jersey but they've not done anything about accommodation etc so who knows.

Also Andy the undertaker's in Guern at the mo, he's coming up to see us on saturday

You don't get a thread this size without some rambling, never mind the quality and all that.

Anyway, uniquely, Gotchifop was right and I am sure that if the Sportboater who wanted to make a go of it this weekend wanted to they would be able to tie in with Trev and all. Though there may be issues with return dates?

Speaking of dates, I reckon you have until lunch time to clear your mooring if your coming up today.

The more hot air being vented, the less boating getting done it seems

Hi again, since we're not going, The Town House in the High Street should have vacancies. I've already told Teevor so get in quick

Apparently you have to google "The Town House Alderney" to find it although I'm sure you already know the place.

We're now havng a massed Solent meeting with some other boats that didn't want to do the cross channel thing so it looks like a busy time both ends. We're now up to 10 I think

Hope you guys have a great ime

You too, sounds like you've gone from a flotilla to an armada

Remember there's always every other weekend of summer of course, there's often a gang of us in Alderney in any given spot of nice weather

Has everyone managed a refund for their accommodation?
