Alternative Isles of Scilly - early July 2013
Mrs A and I have booked the first two weeks of July as holiday and are considering going by boat from Poole to the Isles of Scilly. We're open to suggestions but this would probably involve overnighting in Dartmouth or Salcombe and Falmouth on the way down so would (weather window permitting) probably leave on 4 July. This would mean crossing to the Scillies on Saturday 6 July. Undecided yet whether to camp or B&B on the Scillies (probably weather dependent again) and would aim to come back the same route whenever the weather permits during the following week.
Anybody interested in joining us for the whole or any part of the journey?
David

Sounds like an Epic trip David!..I have a date in the Emerald Isle that weekend or I would have been keen! The B&B option may not be open, depending on how long you stay on the Islands though...whenever I've enquired its always been a minimum stay of a few nights,so I would definately try to sort something beforhand,if thats the prefered optoion.
Can recomend camping on Bryher...and if you dont get over then, will be looking at the end fo July again myself
If you do, you two have a Great trip !

Hi David et al.,
I am favouring the latter part of July weekend of 26th due to commitments. Obviously this is a specific weekend I have in mind and could all go to pot if the weather isn't favourable.
I think Whisper is also thinking of this weekend.
Would be great to have you with us but understand if not possible with work commitments or the weather is great for your selected dates

Avocet text me:
'Hi Alex! Mrs A and I have made it to Falmouth. Glorious weather and sea state. Will recount all in due course. Have no computer access. Could you PM Oscarguitar to say I won't be out to Play this weekend? Thanks Avocet'
Looks like he's gone for it
