slack water is best around the skerries, especially during springs. neaps are fine at all states of tide generally.

We went out towards caernarfon bar last Thursday, everywhere on the strait flat calm but there was a fair SW wind over falling tide out of caernarfon. Tide must have been in the window of correct depth over the bar. Surf was like Hawaii!! I've only seen it twice but it makes me sh** myself when I see it. To go out to it (which I did last time) and then run out towards Llandwyn parallel in the channel to get around it, with breakers inshore, is just exhilarating. It scares the beejeezus out of me tbh. You feel so small.

I've seen that once, it certainly makes you take a second look!

Oh that's a bit of a shame, as high water on Saturday 2 June at Holyhead is 09:00 and 21:32 - maybe we should try for around the Island.

true, i went out at 7.30-8.30 the other night, the wind drops and its all calm.

However sunset was 9.29 the other night, so HT at 9.30 is a little on the late side. Plus it would take me an hour or two to get back.

A friends just done his pb2 and is looking for a rib though, so will be doing some runs out in the evening over the next few weeks, so will give you a pm.

I have had a few good days out this week on the rib, had some decent fish, plenty of mackeral about now as well, not managed a bass yet though. Lost yet another anchor on wednesday out by llandwyn island, I must have put a ton of metal on that seabed in the last few years !!
