Annual Ribnet River Thames Cruise - Saturday 13 October 2007

Dear all,

I'm offerring to organise a cruise from Putney Embankment down to Limehouse Basin for lunch then on down to the Thames Barrier, possibily as far as the QE2 Bridge on the M25.

The date is gonna have to be Saturday the 13th October to get the right tides. The start time would have to be about 10 ish as well.

Parking at Putney isn't too bad as long as you don't mind seperating cars and trailers.

Launching is normally fairly easy on the wide gentle concrete slipway and if you need to the nearby Chas Newans Marine will drop you in using their Landrover for a fee.

There is a speed limit on the first part of the trip from Putney to Wandsworth after which the local regulations require you to ensure your wash does not cause harm to other vessels.

Lunch was going to be a pub job at Limehouse Basin or Canary Wharf Pier.

Fuel isn't easily available on the River so you'd have to carry enough fuel for the full trip.

I'd expect to be back at Putney before it goes dark.

If your interested post below with the number of souls on board!

Chris

Firsly, I'm really sorry for never getting back to you about the safety boat thing.

This was a really good cruise last year. I'm going to try and make it down all being well.

really enjoyed this last year, and thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of going, unfortunately I have a plane to catch in the afternoon, so can't make it.
