It's Mark's itinery, Charles, but I'm sure he won't mind me answering.
We set off from Poole and St Mawes on 21 June to RV on the 22nd in Cameret. He plans to go via the CI to say to you, I believe.
We then bomb down to the Ile d'Yeu off the coast NW of les Sables-d'Olonne. (les Sables is the home the Vendee Globe Challenge non-stop single-handed-round-the-world race. It was in the 1996 running of the race from there that Pete Goss carried out his brave rescue of Raphael Dinelli. In the 2000 edition, also from there, that Ellen Macarthur delivered a result that made her a superstar).
From Ile d'Yeu we head for Arcachon a few miles SW of Bordeaux in the bottom right of the Bay of Biscay and then we cut off the corner and head for Gijon on the North coat of Spain.
A few jars there and then a 45 degree run across Biscay to la Rochelle where we RV with old mates of mine who, like Di and me, have hung up their sailing boots for the last time after 2+ circumnavigations. They give us a bath and plenty of vin plonk and then we head home.
I have absolutely no doubt that we will be even more knackered at the end of that little run than we would be if we combined the sore heads of the RIBnet Conf, Brian's Sarf West Bash and the Scillie's Cruise.
