Anyone doon sooth doing this in a squidgy? Contemplating getting the tender out and that ropey old Suzuki (the one with the dodgy cylinder liner) as it has a very short shaft..................
Due a singular lack of launching points and low river levels we didn't...............
However we did scout the put-in at Stopham by The White Hart - who were very friendly and served a good Doombar with a smile! Alas no way in at Stopham for a squidgy but if you can run the goose gauntlet canoeists are welcome.
Pulborough slip is steep and no parking so on the day it would've been a mad fest. There is no access further downstream at Bury (a local riverbank for local people according to the signs) and Arundel is a locked(!) pontoon and gangway. So anyone who wants to do the Arun has to do it from Littlehamptongrad or Ford....or pick a quiet Sunday at Pulborough.
It was really the prospect of 30+ paddlers on the drop off point outside the cafe, plus the resultant parking issues over the bridge AND low river levels that did for us.
