Autumn Colours - Plymouth
Folks
With half term fast approaching and the long range weather forecasts looking favourable I thought it may be worth adding a trip into the diary. These will all be based from Plymouth Breakwater Fort and are very weather dependant.
Autumn Colours - Tuesday 26th October at 1400hrs
A trip from Plymouth breakwater through the Western channel and along Fort Bicklecombe and through to Downderry or Seaton. This won’t be a trip at speed but a nice gentle toddle along the coast enjoying the autumn colours. Mount Edgecumbe Park will be in full autumn display and a range of colours will be enjoyed, on the return we’ll head into Barn Pool to see how the Parklands there are fairing with the autumn change.
Evening lights - Tuesday 26th October at 1700
Plymouth Sound can be a lovely place as the lights of the city start to light up the sky. The thought will be to head from the Breakwater Fort across to the river Yealm and see how Newton Ferris welcomes in the evening. We’ll then head back into Plymouth Sound, seeing the night sky light up as we proceed down through the Sound, through the dockyard to Saltash and then return to the Barbican before departing for berths or trailers.
Sunset is at 1804 with a high tide at 1920 so plenty of light to launch, plenty of water to cruise and plenty of both for recovery or berthing.
Wednesday 27th a morning to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or an hours or 2 shopping before heading off at 1430 East wards, again looking at the colours that Wembury and Burge Island have to offer before returning back to Plymouth and departing for a mid afternoon coffee and cake at lazy Jacks
Should the weather be really nice a Pasty in Salcombe can be enjoyed before heading back.
1804 dark
1920 - high
