The International Ribraid season got off with a blast in June with our overnight trip from Donaghadee to Douglas on the Isle of Man. The Flotilla of 10 boats encountered some of the trickiest and roughest conditions that many of the crews had every encountered, however with our experience Ribraid committee overseeing every aspect of the cruise the skippers could develop their skills safely.
We left Donaghadee Harbour on Saturday morning (28th June 2008) after a hearty breakfast provided by Pier 36 and cruised to Peel to enjoy a picnic hamper provided by the Northern Bank. After a few hours in Peel the Ribraid then cruised to Douglas for an overnight stop before backtracking to Port St Mary for a wonderful Barbeque provided by the sailing club.
On Sunday evening the flotilla returned safely to Donaghadee through some challenging seas.
Don’t miss out on the next wonderful international Ribraid taking place at the end of July, this action packed two day event Cruises from Bangor in Co Down, Northern Ireland, to the island of Sanda on the Saturday and Portpatrick on the Sunday (26th & 27th July 2008).
