Bank Holiday in NW/North Wales

Hi folks

Planning a trip this Bank Holiday, 1st,2nd & 3rd May

Am open to where but is anyone doing anything around IOM,Conway or may Phwelli and fancies joing up ?.

Initial idea was Fleetwood to Conway 1st,
Trip down Meni Strights & maybe round anglesy 2nd
Come back from Conway to Fleetwood 3rd.

Only ideas at this stage and if other people are planning things can easy change.

I'll almost definitely be in Anglesey so count me in for anything around the island or Pwllheli or Conwy. MeMe, Ian, Dave Manning and John Firth are guaranteed to be around. Not sure if Jono has teaching commitments.

Personally another circumnavigation of Anglesey would be my first choice - the one last year was superb.

Cruising

The trip around Anglesey last year was fantastic!
If Ian has a free day I'm sure we will be keen on hearing of any plans.

Hi folks

Well it looks like round Anglsey it is then

Done most of it at some time or another but never all at once.

HW Conway is about 10.15am and I belive we can get out of Conway HW+/-4 hours, so what about meeting up about 10.30am.

This allows us pleanty of time for Caernarfon Bar & the Swellies.

This gives us lots of time and we can still get back into Conway in daylight.
Round trip by my account approx 80 Miles.

Lets just now hope for good weather.

Do people want to meet at Conway or in the Mani Strights ?.

Regards Gary

I am presuming the preferred date is Saturday 1st.. If so I can't make it. Now Monday I could... I'll keep watching for updates.

I was out at Conwy yesterday.... jolly that old sea mist stuff isn't it! Still couldn't see Angelsey from the fairway bouy so headed back to the river for a blast... I think my next investment will be GPS!

Sorry MeMe..

..didn't know you were there this weekend. Russians chucked you out then?

Can't make Anglesey trip this weekend due to work, but have a great time and hope the weather holds for you. If it's anything like the last one you'll really enjoy it.
Remember to pay the 'Dragon' at Holyhead Marine for the pleaseure of using her pontoon!!!

Hi Peter

No the planned day for round anglesey is the Sunday, the 2nd.

Plan to come over on the 1st, maybe go out for a play depending on how much time we have left for the tide or on the evening tide.

Round Anglesey on 2nd, leaving Conway meeting up with Phil at Beaumaris.

What time to you want to meet up Phil, slack water in the swellies is 8.00am but will not have too much flow at 9.00am.

Never done the swellies at full flow(10.00am ish on), but belive its possible in a RIB.

Heading back on the 3rd but wont have much time to play and make lock gates at Fleetwood.

Regards Gary

Gary,

Anytime Sunday morning would be fine. I should add that my visit to Anglesey will depend on the weather (it's a long way to go if it's going to rain all weekend), so I'll be in touch later this week re. final arrangements.

Given that your boat is twice the length of mine and your engine is 8 times bigger than mine (!!), would it be a better idea if I jumped in yours? Either that or you're going to get very bored waiting for me to catch up

(it's a long way to go if it's going to rain all weekend), It seems like Phil's southern side is taking control. The site below is worth a look for weather and surf conditions.

Gary

I will be going to Anglesey Saturday evening so would be available for the cruise Sunday morning. Given that I have to be back in Essex for Monday evening and I need maximum overtaking capability on the A5 to dodge the 40mph brigade tossers, I won't be bringing the RIB on this occasion (it adds about an hour and a half to the journey ).

If you've got room on your RIB I'd love to come along and of course would be happy to contribute to the fuel costs. I haven't seen you online the whole week so in case you need to contact me my mobile is: 07768 153 386.

Unfortunately the stone walls in my girlfriend's house are 3ft thick and mobile reception is non-existent so just leave a message if necessary and I'll pick it up as soon as I walk out of her front door - and once she hears I'm going boating again I could be out of the door quicker than I realise

Don't worry if you've changed your plans or haven't got room - I'll no doubt catch up with you later this year.

Phil
