bass trip
hi guys, if sandeel is a no go, try gallows point for a few mackrel, or herring keep them alive in a bucket, speed back up to old bridge bangor side, drifting back towards gallows point, find 20ft of water, about 25 yards out, use a portland rig 2oz of lead,4/0 circle hook,
lip hook your bait drift from bridge to mooring, takes about 15 mins, holding rod and keeping lead just tripping bottom it rises and drops off, the small tide on sunday is perfect for this drift, dont forget slack water...not low water is 2hrs before low under this bridge, there a some very big bass here at this time of year, also shelterd from winds .. hope this helps. steve

Welcome to RIBnet lad! You other feckers be nice to this one - he's a Keeper!
My Official Leak (leek, geddit?) in Pembrokeshire says the bass fishing is piss poor at present - better luck up there!

And there I was blaming my technique.
Right, off to convince Ms DHD that there's no fish in the sea.......

bass trip
thanks for welcome, forget rubber eels, 6inc shads might work on this mark, but live fish is the bait, pouting can be caught over hms conway, they make a good back up bait, but live mackrel or herring are the top big bass baits, i know of a 14lb bass from this mark in oct last year, i've had 3 bass over 10lb in 3 drifts here on live mackrel, and lost a right beast at the net, oct is the best month for big fish in the swellies and bridges, thats why you need to hold your rod at all times, to avoid snags, the bass hit your livebait side on, you feel a couple on sharp taps , give the fish a bit of line, your reel should be in free spool with your thumb anyway, using a circle hook bass usualy hook themselves ,put the reel into gear, make sure drag is set fairly tight to get the fish away from bottom.

The nearest thing that Asda has to a Seabass is probably a Findus crispy cod & prawn pancake
