Bembridge IOW
Hi any one got any tips or info on Bembridge?
I will be there as from saturday for a week Staying at Solent landing at the entrance to the harbour, will have the rib + sib with us!
Have contacted the habere master he said just turn up & he will fined us a mooring!
Is there any where to keep the inflatable?
We go over for day trips to the beaches around Bembridge, but it is a very long time since I had a holiday there!
Any one see blue osprey with lots of young kids on say hello
Nick

Brilliant place - especially at LW Springs
I have no doubt that Chris Turvey (HM) will find you a suitable berth probably tucked on the inside of the Visitor's Pontoon - only snag it's a bloody long walk to Solent Landings so best use the SIB.
Just don't mention Pendragon though
Have a great time - I'm green with envy.

Thanks for the offer Ray, we should be ok!
Dose any one have any more info?
I remember some one saying that fuel is available at Tesco some 5 miles away!
Is there a public pontoon for the SIB?
Good pubs for eating, that are kiddie friendly?
All info welcome, just Hope the weather improves!
Nick

There are a couple of sailing clubs (Bars - Food) - we used the one at the far end of the harbour called brading haven. They were very friendly and didn't mind us using their pontoon .
Usually you are supposed to sign youself in from another club but it may be worth sounding them out - They me glad of some increased bar turnover .
Cheers
Phil

Sorry, Nick, can't be of much help as we've only been into Bembridge once and seemed to be confronted by 'No mooring' everwhere we looked!! (I'm sure it's not as bad as it seemed - maybe a little bit of local knowledge is the key). Anyway, the point of my post is to say that I understand Steve Care has been to Bembridge, as has Ribald, so it might be worth PMing them? Just a thought!

Nick, you are right - petrol from Tesco's - 10 min drive (by car).
Brading Haven club is very good and the food is excellent. Or, if you fancy a stroll up the hill to St Helens, The Vine public house is also very good. Can't speak for the other pubs but I understand The Crab & Lobster is good. You could always try The Old Fort in Seaview - they have a Curry Night on Wednesdays but it is best to book.
No public pontoon for the SIB - suggest you beach just on the left as you come into the harbour and carry it to Solent Landing - a short walk.
