Channel crossing this Monday

I appreciate its short notice but with the fantastic weather forecast this bank holiday weekend we might pop over to Alderney or Cherbourg for lunch on Monday , leaving Solent fairly early and back the same day - if anyone is interested tagging along please get in-touch , regards Lee 07798 621721

Stunning day, 2 hour run across, arrived 9.30am just in time for breakfast - what a lovely little island! Then a splash of fuel at Mainbrace in the inner harbour and a look along the coast. Headed back to the Solent early afternoon, passed the needles after 1hr 40mins - not bad Perfect conditions, great crew and a blinding day!

I went up from jersey on Saturday and returned Sunday. Made a change to have such a smooth crossing.

We brimmed her prior to departure so she was heavy with fuel - she felt right / nicely trimmed at 32knots / 4.1k revs - which was the first clip. Heading home she was a little lighter and initially we sat at 35knots, then prob 2/3rds of the way home we picked up to 38/40knots for the last 20 miles, clip below is us on the return leg showing the south of the IOW / Needles. Funniest thing was we did 120miles of flat sea and the only bit of rough water we encountered was some Solent chop a couple of miles from home! (Sorry for my sh*t camera work! lol)

Will be heading across this coming season, I’ll post up details once an appropriate weather window starts developing if anyone wants to join us

I have clocked on a good number of hours so Grey Mist is ready for some long trips in 2018. If the timing and of course the weather is right then I will be up for such a crossing

Superb, flexible this end regarding dates, possibly staying overnight if weather allows

Lee, I do not do camping

a good hotel will be fine with some good food and drink

perhaps best in time to start a new thread as "this Monday" is now history
