Hi

Is anybody planning a trip to Alderney or any of the channel Islands this summer and want another RIB to accompany them ?

We are River Hamble based

We have a 7m Humber Ocean Pro with a 200 Suzuki so have no problems with a trip.

I am a regular Channel crosser, having moved from the islands a few years ago

Will keep an eye here for any thoughts as a trip in company is a great way to do it

I already have a small group going to Sark for the folk festival, so will create an even on here for that in a separate post

We'll be heading over for the second half of Alderney Week. Planning to camp on the island ideally from Wednesday to Sunday returning in the afternoon. That's the plan for now and it would be great to head over in company. I'll keep a listen out here unless someone kicks off a separate Alderney Week thread. https://www.alderneyweek.com/

Just reigniting this thread.

We are planning to depart Poole Wednesday 9th August for Alderney and return Sunday 13th. We have a day either side flexibility for a weather window but our preference will be these dates. We could meet any Solent based ribs in Poole Bay and then travel across together.

Once on the island we will camp with friends at Saye beach but I'd imagine there could still be a few houses/ B & B options possibly left if that's your preference. We're open to you joining us or making your own plans.

For anyone looking to cross for the first time its nice to go in company, we'll only make the journey if the weather window looks decent. Decide last minute but saving the dates.

If you've not been before then I won't spoil the surprise too much but its a week of games, fun, beer, music and fireworks.

Frosty (Triple O is the boat name)

Alderney festival week

I’ve noticed your post for the trip to Alderney weather permitting I’d be up for that we would be towing down to you from near Blackpool with Ross Thornton who owns fast forward but I will be bringing cyanide to do this trip (9.5 scorpion cabin rib ) I’ll keep my eye on this this thread and the weather cheers for now Terry

ALDERNEY WEEK - Looking at the forecast and tides the plan is to depart Poole at 10.30am on Wednesday 9th August, we'll meet up with any Solent ribs and cross the Channel in company (so far we are three boats, Triple O, Black Adder and Cyanide).

Our boat crew and one other will camp at Saye Beach (5 in total) and enjoy the Alderney Week celebrations/events until it ends on Sunday 13th when we will return to Poole.

During the week we may well try and visit Sark/Guernsey/Cherbourg Peninsular.

Depending on your choice of forecast app there is actually some better weather around in particular the Saturday and Sunday (long way off, I know).

This is all subject to forecast but if you fancy joining us for just the crossing or camp alongside and share the day trips/events then you'd be welcome. Message me for details.
