Clarky, it'd be good if your "kids" could make it, cos then there'd be a few people my sort of age about, otherwise I'm stuck with you old gits

Careful Matt, one of the "Old Gits" might be taking you over. It's a long swim from mid-Channel!!

Hah! I'll take the SIB and row it!
That's reminded me, I need to decide who's lucky enough to have my company for the crossing, as a few of you have been kind enough to offer me a crew position.
Cheers,
Matt

I said you be old, didn't say you couldn't have a good time out on the water!
Looking forward to it, can't wait to try some snorkelling there and just generally relax.
Matt

I presume this is a BIBOA only?
if i was a member I would be interested in coming, and might sign up on that main point alone.
But I am due to be in cateret around this time, would i be able to bring a collegue and his rib with me, and whover is with us in cateret?
thank you

Martin,
How about the Bosuns Chair and the Yacht Haven in Lyminton then?

Dave this could be a date
Anybody know the number for the Bosuns Chair as I've yet to find them on the web.

Bosuns Chair
Morning All
Just got back from snowboarding and catching up on these threads. The Bosuns Chair is a good B & B and one I have used several times. Launching can be done at the Public Slipway near the yacht club. For those leaving from Lymington for this event I can meet you at this slipway before we set off to meet charles. Any one who needs to refuel we can make a quick pitstop in Yarmouth. We should aim to get away as fast as possible for the cruise to get a good days boating in with Charles. I;ve had several e-mails allready but anyone else who would like to meet for the crossing please mail me for more details.

Hi Julian
Welcome back, where did you go, any good snow?
Lots and lots of interest for this cruise already through the BIBOA channels, so hopefully more people will be getting in touch with you in due course.

Cruise
Morning Charles
I went to Zermatt in Switzerland, fantastic place and we had 3 meteres of fresh powder, great snowboarding. Now its back to reality.
I've had about 7 e-mails from people so far including Mike Deacon is coming along but he does'nt know how many people will be with him.
I'll keep you posted along the way but it looks good so far.
Julian

Why not pit stop in Alderney? You can pick up fuel there and it would probably be cheaper than yarmouth.

Fuel
Hi there
Some can if they need to but fuel is only available by jerry cans is'nt it. I will take on enough diesel in yarmouth then will fill right up before the return Journey either in Guernsey or Jersey. Should be a great event.

FUEL
Diesel from the pump is OK at Alderney cos I filled up my Seahawk there on the St. Malo cruise . As for petrol then I seem to remember that only jerry cans
Andre
Another advantage of having a diesel rib

Andre/Julian
Just to clarify...
we are talking about Braye Harbour here?
diesel at a dockside pump and petrol in cans (lugged from somewhere close by), yes?
I believe you of course. Last time I went into Braye I must have had my eyes shut, I couldn't see anywhere obvious.

Fuel
Hi Brian
I have only refuelled once in Braye which is where we are talking about and that was a petrol boat which took ages to fill up in Jerry cans. I have never got diesel from there but apparantly they do have it.

The one time I went to Braye refuelling was possible alongside in the inner harbour - so only when sufficient water present. Petrol was gravity fed from jerries down long hose to boat. Not sure about diesel.

Alderney:
Diesel available from pump at Maynebrace - inner harbour -tidal restrictions apply. Petrol is available by Jerry Can, always a good idea to let Maynbrace know you are coming so that they can be prepared to have enough petrol for your requirements. Other alternative is alerting Jake Hamon from Alderney Vehicle and Marine Repairs and he can arrange a bowser on the opposite side.
Guernsey:
Petrol and Diesel available upon entering St.Peter Port three-quarter way into harbour to port. Not effected by the tide.
Everyone will take fuel (diesel or petrol) onboard at Guernsey (not Alderney) upon arrival. Herm is 8 minutes away thereafter.
