Nik,
I hope to be out. Engine is getting serviced in the morning and if I get the all clear will be launching from Camber or Haslar sometime in the afternoon. Going for a blast around the Forts for a couple of hours. Give me a shout on 77. Just look for the yellow RIB.
Regards Nick.

Nick
sadly for some it is a working day. Lynx, Seahawk IV and possibly Sid1 will be out on Saturday 26th. Leaving Chi at about 9 AM and heading for another picnic on the water. Not so sure where as yet
Are you going out on Saturday as well?

Or Zerstorer will do.
Would like to meet up and have a look at your boat. Would like to see how that configuration all fits together. Something to think about in the future.

Hi Nick,
great to see you guys, I am afraid I have forgotten your colleagues name already.
This is the only picture I could manage.

Hi Nick,
Well we eventually managed to meet up. Should RIBNETers wear a red carnation when trying to find each other in a pub ! Or should it be a case of look for the person with a handset.
Must admit I am very impressed with your boat. That engine is set up well. And it does seem as though Humber can build good boats (BogMonster please note). Its a solid looking piece of kit. Goes very well also.
Unfortunately my Co Pilot, Lucky Ribster wasn't very lucky when it came to taking photos none of the ones he took with my camera came out. So mine are pretty lacking as well.
Just a couple of shots.
1) Nik leaving Cowes
2) A sunny Priory Bay. A quick recce for the RIBNET summer BBQ.
After we left you at the Forts took a quick blast round to Culver Bay. Where I introduced Lucky Ribster to that great RIBbing tradition. Getting wet. Basically jump out of the boat and wade to the shore to get some grub.
Pete7 thanks for the launching site. After driving round Camber and a couple of sites in Gosport I settled on your launch place. A little gem hidden away there and one I can see me using again. Wonder how long it will be before the council ruin that one.

Hi Neil,
Yeh all is well. 'Oakley Cruises' is back up and running again. More planning to get done for future RIB cruises.
Serviced with no problems in the gearbox department. They were told what had happened and shown the prop so if anything does crop up now its back to being a warranty claim I suppose. Looks like Suzuki bearings are quite hardy things. Thats about 25 miles I did with a vibrating prop. Although it was at 3000 revs.
Treated myself to a new prop. Mainly because its the about the same price to buy a new one as it is to get it repaired. Plus I couldn't bear looking at all the scraped off paint after my mate ran it through that mud bank up your end of Southampton water.
See you out there soon I hope. It was fantastic today. You could really feel the heat once you landed. It was nice to be back in T Shirts and shorts mode again. And even the water is getting bearable. Long may it last.
Nick.

Andy,
Pleasure to have you along. Don't forget to post on here if your going out on your RIB. Today would have been an ideal day for a potter around in company. And if I'm looking for crew I'll give you a shout.

Bumped in to Gray.
I forgot to say that yesterday we even managed to bump in to RIBNETs 'Hardest Ribber' Gray on his Zapcat with a friend in Cowes Marina.
Don't those Zapcats look as if they are going to sink at any moment with no transom !

Thanks for the complements Nick.
For what its worth, about a year ago I was giving up on the idea of diesel, and top of my list then, was a 5.8m ribcraft.

I was very impressed with your boat. Something to think about for the future if diesel stays cheap.
