Mark - PM sent - just spoke to the folly .......who tried to take £150 off me as a deposit, followed by much confusion as to what I was paying , how many were coming ( they said 20 , I said no idea ....)

After five minutes of confusion they suggested we all just pay on the day (as long as we turn up).

See you all Sunday (hope the weather is good !)

PS - Ian got your message last night & will call tonight.

Pete

I think we need to have a word with the folly. They all seem to be singing from different hymn sheets

It is indeed a bit worrying: Mrs A and I were numbers 29 and 30 when I called last Thursday!

Let us hope that the current winds drop by Sunday or our crossing of Poole and Christchurch Bays will be interesting....

Just talked to the folly and they are a little worried as only 8 Xmas dinners have been booked. They need to know who having what as quickly as possible as they have 2.5 k places for that weekend. I'll pm mark to talk to Jemma or Alex

Just a note it's booked under mark and pathfinders. They have ask for a deposit because they are so busy if we don't turn up they may have already turned other people away. I can see his point and with that in mind I have said that I would ask you guys who might not come to let them know ASAP Again if this is the case talk to the above people and make it clear that you are one or two of the 30. It will keep us in there good books if we show them this courtesy

I will a little later today post a summary of food choices from the spreadsheet and info given to me so far which I will be emailing to The Folly tomorrow morning. If anything has been wrongly recorded, please let me know by PM again and I will update this as necessary.

Final numbers to be confirmed but its looking like approx 34 I think which is a good show.

Just been told its blowing a 9 on Bramble Bank - lets hope its OK for Sunday !!

I hope the weather calms down for all those travelling across.
I have to bow out of this one, as another event has taken priority. Will be on land, but involve lots of muddy water ...

Christchurch to IOW

I'm planning to leave from Christchurch if the weather is ok or possibly further along the coast if the weather doesn't improve.

Does anyone want to meet up along the way?

It looks like it's going to be a tad breezy...
I'm going to be out on Saturday (BIBOA Xmas lunch in Cowes) as well as Sunday, and as the weather's meant to be pretty much the same both days I'll post if the conditions are too bad!
Whilst it's going to be windy, at least it's neap tides and low tide for most of the boating time across the Solent so hopefully it will be just spray rather than massive tidal chop as well!
I'll be starting from SDS (up the Itchen), so if anyone in smaller boats wants to launch at Crosshouse Hard (under the Itchen Bridge) I'm happy to buddy up to keep you company. If anyone wants a lift the suicide seat is still available..

We're aiming to go across from Poole. Is anybody else doing the same or want a seat on our boat? Three booked on board so far.

We plan on launching in Poole by 10.30 so should be off Christchurch around 11.15. I'll be keeping somewhat further off shore than last time I was off Hengistbury in the rough!
