Hi Neil - thanks for the advice
I'm probably panicking - but it's good to know that we can go with Tim if I do chicken out at the last minute - just being honest but I'm a bit of a big girls blouse when it comes to batism by fire - even with such great company - would very much like to take our own boat

general plan will be to launch somewhere, prob southampton water way for at least some (me incl.), and maybe take a blast before going to Cowes and up to the folly. will depend on conditions. if it's rough, not too far over to cowes anyway so no big issue, and we're a nice lot really, you won't be left behind. if wind is like the last couple of weekends, there might not be many peeps that actually go!

Thanks Neil - it's good to know the recent weather may put others off as well as a novice - it sounds great, we've done all the work on the electronics and not yet tested to see if any of it works - so it would be good to give it a bash and very reassuring to know that company/help would'nt be far away

Just trying to get my head around possible weather challenges and my complete lack of experience - to be honest anything much more than a fairly light chop and I'll probably have to pass until more experience is gained in better weather - would we be able to met you all there by car (where ever there is!!)

Unfortunately Saturday the 5th is out for us.
We have the last Rugby Fixtures of this term to do, then I'll have my Saturdays back for a few weeks.

definately use your boat, if you feel it's too much we could swap for the passage, i can still remember the fun i had in a boat that size, and don't worry about everybody flying off and leaving you, that won't happen, i would offer some seats but i'm not sure when me and the girl friend will be coming back, i have a house in cowes and i haven't seen it for a couple of months so i'll be checking that over.

Biff it will be good to see you again as it has been a long time. What time are you planning to run across perhaps we could meet in Southampton waters and run across together.

Thanks Biffa - that sounds like a good plan - will see what the weather looks like a few days before and have a think about it - maybe another cunning plan rather than swapping - would be to offer an experienced but boatless RIBster a spare seat on our RIB in return for some guidance in poor weather - if they felt brave enough!!!!

Good to see Biffa comeing through with his offer of help, would be good though if you can use your RIB! It is one of the advantages of Ribnet that people can expand their experience[and confidence!] while accompanied by other boats.
I'm sure no one would mind traveling in a flotilla!Which is easy to arrange. Incidentally with the SR 5.4 you have a really SEAWORTHY boat!as I'm sure you know! Hope you can make it.

Jean,
I really think you should consider taking your SeaRider, it will be up for any sea conditions that most of the others are capable of. If you can trail to Haslar Marina, I'll help you launch and recover and will cruise along side you over to Cowes. Nothing like Piloting your own boat in the safety of others, give confidence and makes helps you explore new harbours etc without the risk.

Hi Chris.................
Only just become aware of this, (on the ball as usual!).
Two more places if I may please,... Mike C and Sheila C.
I'll be hitching a lift on Andre's Super Tanker from S'ampton.
Is a collective table being booked or are we all reserving individually?
May not be necessary as its off-season and it’s the Folly but when we turned up on mass at that pub-on-the-beach during the N Wales Rib Net meet the other year, ‘mein host’ through a wobbly!!!
See ya.
Mike C

With regards to the arrangements I am going to phone the Folly today to find out about tables. I will update once i have spoken to them.
I am suggesting an RV of Calshott at midday then head up to the Folly for 1pm.
If anyone feels like working up more of an appetite some of us will be heading out early for a blast up to the needles So will probably be heading out of Hythe at 8.00 and 9.00am. High tide in Southampton water is at 8.00am

Mrs A and I are both up for this, although chauffeuring requirements for the smaller Avocets will probably mean that we can't both make it on the Saturday - although we could on the Sunday with the smaller Avocets.
Count us in anyway and one or more of us will be there!
