Christmas / New Year

Last year a number of us enjoyed a couple of get togethers over the festive period. Several crews got together at Morfa Nefyn with guests from far and wide. The Jackeens, Rouge Wave, Phil Davies, Jono Gorton, Dave Manning etc to name but a few.

Anyway, although a couple of months off I thought I'd promote this years cruise early to make sure those interested could apply for their day passes from partners and spouses.

As for dates I'd pose the following and allow the majority reaction to rule.

Christmas. Tue28th or Wed29th or Thu30th

New Year. New Years Eve or Sun2nd

Location. Abersoch, launching at Pwllheli from PPT (if Jono Gorton will let us), or, Morfa Nefyn, or Angelsey however, the latter offers no secure parking or changing facilities.

Post your thoughts..............all welcome with or without a RIB as there's always plenty of room on mine.

Hi Graeme,

We're likely to be down in Devon over Christmas and New Year but if our plans change, we'll be in touch. Would probably want to blag a ride with someone please (in exchange for beer and bara brith!).

We're definitely considering bringing Blue Ice up to North Wales some time next year for a weekend or a few days. I lived there (Llanfairfechan) for 4 years and we would love to explore some of the coastline by RIB.

P.S. Hope you had a good trip!

I shall be wintering on Ynys Mon as usual and would like to register my attendance at this early stage. This should give you lot plenty of time to think up lots of p*ss-taking initiatives in the unlikely event that I fail to turn up

Great to hear.....

.........from Fred & Jane (Medline II arriving at the end of this month). Rouge Wave - I was hoping you'd miss this thread as catering for you was like supplying the Red Army. Look forward to seeing you all.

I could be interested in this also.

I`ll probably have space on my boat for the boatless ones out there!

So now that......

........I'm back online and feeling like a Ribber again following the arrival of my new ride, come on, who else is up for a winter cruise.

I'm surprised Ian and Debs have not responded expecially given they'll have the biggest and fastest rib this year. Where's John Firth, he's attended quite a few jaunts thus far and of course the Jackeens who came last year. Come on chaps !

As mentioned by both me and CJL there's plenty of room for those without a craft.

I've been threatened with "decorating" over the Festive period so I'd much rather come and spend a few days with you guys . Are any plans actually firming up yet ?

It's a long.......

.......drive from Essex so I think you'll be able to get out of quite a few days decorating.

Although no confirmed dates have been established, I'd say speaking from past experiences that most if not all of those who have advised their participation will turn up.

I'll leave the thread to gather a little more pace over the coming week or so and firm things up the week after (26th November ish).

Very much hope you can make the long trip either with or without your boat.

Any possibility of friming up the date?

We seem to have range of options and I certainly find it better to have a definative date to aim for.

Yes it was great fun on our little jaunt last year. Enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended to all thinking about it.
( NWR are an almost surprisingly friendly lot )

We may have a complicated Christmas ahead but you'd never know Meme.

I guess it's about time I got in touch again. I really enjoyed the meetings we had in the past. Christmas will be spent in the midlands but I plan to be in Wales for the New Year so Sunday 2nd looks good to me.

Tuesday 28th........

........December is the day.

I suggest we meet in Pwhelli at 0900/0930 ish unless anyone has any objections or their drive is a killer.

If Jono Gorton is o.k with it I suggest we meet outside his place where there's a great slip and pleanty of parking space.etc.

Jono may have work in progress, however, I'm sure he'd be happy to allow use of his toilet facilities.

As for a cruise plan this will very much be weather dependant, however, there's plenty of locations all within easy crusing distance. I'll post a proposed itinerary shortly or if anyone has any suggestions, please shout.

Worse case senario we can trailer to Morfa Nefyn and launch from there where, we're less than a mile form a beach front pub.

Please registrar your attendance and any special requests. I'll be ribbing with a pal so there's room for at least 2 more with me.
