Clipper race start on Mersey

Anyone else going on the river on the 18th Sept to see the clippers off on their round the world race?

Probably launch off New Brighton.

I may join you! Probably meet you there and come by rib (i figure its safer than leaving the landy in scouser land).

Anyone else fancy coming from Morfa Nefyn or Menai Straits by RIB? Is there any petrol on water side up that way?

Dont go there...

Yes thats a very good idea. Here's a even better one, why not leave 'the landy' and 'the ribby' and yourself in Wales or Southampton you big pr!ck !

Or better still why dont you wait until you have a clipper from your own magnificent city to grace the world and then you would not have to venture out into the big bad city.

And there is no petrol stations neither as they have all closed down after being held up so often, and there is no running water supply as the people dont wash.

p.s Car crimes statistics for Wales are 3 x higher than in Liverpool,so i hope you have a good security system on your 'landy' out there.

stolen motors

One last thing ....if you look at the section on this web site listing stolen ribs there is about 5 or 6 from the Southampton area 2 from the Chester & North Wales area and 0 from Liverpool.

Funny That

people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones,eh !

U dunn it now Jono

Now that all ruffled feathers are settling, can we get back to the 18th?
Be good to see you Jono it's only a couple of hours by road, we park next to the beach patrol at New Brighton and they keep an eye on things for us.
Clippers are due to leave docks 10.15am and race starts at Pier Head 12.00 noon.
If you want to come over the Sat. night, we can arrange safe overnight storage for you

Heck!! I thought it a sensible question. The words big, chips and shoulders come to mind. Very few ports in Cornwall have petrol available on the water. And, we do get the occasional car nicked. Those scallys get everywhere. ;-)

As it's a big tide on the 18th, I think we might launch at West Kirby and dart round to the Mersey. That way we could follow the fleet out a bit from the start and then come back up the Dee to recover (and make sure Jono doesn't get into trouble with the locals before he's back on the welsh side).
