The Clipper Round the World fleet are departing Portsmouth Harbour to head to the race start in Hull, this bank holiday Monday.
10 identical Clipper 68s complete with their race crews (made up of anyone from novices to sailing up to old hands) and race skippers will parade out of the harbour at approximately 1400.
With over 400 crew taking part in the whole race or a leg thereof, and all the boats now sponsored, there will be a large number of friends, families, guests, and other interested parties down to wave them off. There look to be a large number of spectator boats, and the yachts are on display in Royal Clarence in the morning. There's a street market too - whatever that is!
