Cowes Curry Cruise

Mid Summer Madness!

We are planning to go over to Cowes on the 23rd June (weather permitting) just after the longest day of the year to enjoy a curry at the Bahar.

Once I get a feel for numbers I can provisionally book some tables for the evening.

I'm also open to mooring suggestions too

Just realised that the Isle of White festival is on from the 21st to the 24th so it may be better to do it the weekend before - Sat 16th June?

I'll be launching from Calshot and the sunset is about 9:20 pm

Caulkhead not English please , please remember to bring your passports and cash.
Bahar is great and you can bring your own drinks and no corkage charged.
All the best

Yeah, it does seem strange walking into a curry house with a carrier bag full of beer and drinking it above the table

Are you coming then Tim?

Nice one

I think I may make an afternoon of it too, may head over to the forts and take a look at that new hotel.

We should be around Cowes on the 16th, as we are helping with the Westward Cup which is a sailing race for a few large boats.

Hi Alex
I hope to be there. We'll probably sleep on board afterwards though!

Cowes Yacht Haven usually provide short stay berths for a relatively modest fee. ( £7/2hrs, I think). You're right in the centre of things there and the boat is safe. Might be an idea to block book and offer to raft up. CYH - 01983 299 975.
Quite fancy it myself...

Hi, we are still up for this weather permitting and I have provisionally booked a table for 10 people for 7pm at the Bahar, Hight Street, Cowes.

Trev has picked up a menu and will post it up in due course

If you would like to join us then please let me know as soon as possible and I will alter the booking accordingly.

I assume the mooring around the corner from the Redjet terminal won't be too congested at that time of the evening???

The sun always shines on the righteous Ian, except inside the M25 on pageant day

I'd hoped to join you but unless the Low currently forming in the mid-Atlantic fails to deepen as predicted (988 currently forecast by the time it hits land!) or tracks other than as forecast (both unlikely), I'll be making and eating my own Indian in front of the TV. I'll keep watching the weather tho' in the hope that the predictions are wrong.
