I forgot all about the Fireworks that mark the end of Cowes week. My Son had a friend over for a sleepover so after eating a nice home cooked Curry we decided to take a stroll down Hill Head beach to work it off before pudding. When we turned up I couldn't believe the numbers of people there, luckily we arrived in time to find a car parking space.

There were people having BBQ's on the beach, flying kites in what little wind there was and generally walking up and down the promenade, a right village atmosphere. The penny didn't drop until darkness fell and more people turned up so we waited around to watch the fireworks. Not as much a delight as I thought it was going to be from a few miles away, but still a pretty good sight. There was one firework that seemed to go up and down then back up and down again like a wave pattern....That was pretty cool!
