Hornet will be arriving tomorrow from Mallaig where we have had some cruising this week but a bit windbound.
Whatever the weather we will be launching Cuan/Seil tomorrow and enjoying the Atmosphere.
Looking forward to seeing some regular rrb'ers and making new friends

Friday morning
Well it blew hard during the night and the rain lashed down however this morning the wind is light nd the seas relatively calm. I am not saying conditions are ideal but they are far better than was forecast yesterday. The forecast for the weekend has moderated albeit to F5 rather than F7. Here's hoping

Weather
Latest forecast ( Met office 3pm forecast) looking a tad breezy for tomorrow, Coastal forecast for Sat AM 4-6 becoming 5-6 then 5-7 becoming 5-6 in PM. Guess it'll be a day for getting up and looking out the window to see how it looks. Plan B maybe looking like a good option!

Well, I did get ready to join in - even made the sandwiches and filled the flask. Sadly though, too windy, too cold and too grey for me today. Hope you hardy chaps have a good time.
Tony

Another of Easdale.
All the boats tied up for the night.
Even a refreshing splash of colour.

What a baptism of fire that was!! They were certainly the biggest seas I've been out in and loved every minute of it. Ralph was 50ft from me at one point then he completely disappeared only to reappear from behind a wall of water. It certainly made you feel alive!
Unfortunately the lumpy conditions showed up a couple of faults with the boat, we had balance all wrong, 140 litres of fuel, the auxiliary, all our gear and a couple of 17st men played havoc with the handling, the trim was useless, I just couldn't get the nose up before the prop started cavitating which led for a slow and very slappy day. If we had shifted some of the extra fuel barrels and gear about I'm sure we could've sorted it but we will know for future. We had the boat out again today on Loch Shiel and its a different boat without the load.
Another issue was the bilge pump, it just isn't man enough, we took a couple of good swampings and had to pootle about until we got rid of some of the water. That'll change soon.
Thanks to the folk that checked in on us on their way by.
There were some lovely boats there on Saturday, The Beast certainly had some presence about it, it skimmed over the water more like a hovercraft than a boat!
A big thank you has to go to Tony and his team, they were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all it was a cracking day, il certainly be back next year, don't know if my pal feels the same.

Ach - that poor lad had saltwater contamination of the cerebral computational module. I wouldn't put too much pass on it. He should have worn a lid like some other RIBnetters

I might have looked like a Swan Vesta matchstick, but the helmet did the job!
