I'm thinking about coming with my son but haven't registered as boats not ready still a few jobs to do before we can sea trial.so can't commit fully until we know we have a suitable boat to use.
Can we register closer to the date or do you need confirmed numbers?
I realise we will have to take pot luck with accommodation but I'm sure we will find something or maybe camp
Cheers
Ken

Ken you can do it either way in terms of registration what ever suits. No harm in registering with Carolyn with an understanding you may have to bail. There's always plenty of room to camp.

OK I'll maybe fill in the registration anyway still lots to do but if I do register I'm mentally committed anyway.
Is there somewhere to Moor and camping within walking distance as if the boat shapes up OK we might do the trip from largs round the mull depending on forecast

Ken
Tony Hill and his mob have been VERY good over the years about helping us moor larger RIBs in the sound (check Google Earth) where he has heavy moorings for his own boats. In foul weather we have brought 10m boats into Easdale Harbour which IS tidal access but it doesn't dry entirely although an outdrive leg might be sweating it on low springs.
The wee ferry runs to Seil regularly (kinda the mainland) where the delightful Highland Arts Center campsite is located 100m from the pier.

Currently looks like I'm NOT a runner due to work pressures. This will be the first one I've missed since the beginning. I bet the weather will be lovely for once
There are a couple of other possible boats from that part of the world but I haven't heard anything to date.

Cheers Willk I've been into the sound for lunch stops with the hard boat but never ventured ashore so not sure what the harbour is like etc.
The boat is 7.4m Delta so is on a drive if there is camping within walking distance then that is probably the way to go for us
if using a mooring how do you get ashore is a dinghy required? I'd rather not carry one if it's not essential
Would we need to arrange mooring in advance or is it a case of turn up and sort it on the day?

OK - first I need to flag that it's Tony's gig and my info is based on my own visits so may be obsolete. Past experience is that no tender is required - there are lots of craft on the water, plus Tony's SIBs and the ferry. The harbour is interesting - in so far as it looks a bit lairy but isn't. Bring lots of fenders and talk to Tony or his minions and you'll be right. The 7.4 will be best in Easdale Harbour on Tony's pontoon - absolutely no concerns there!
Best to give them a heads up (even the night before) if you can attend.

Easdale RIB Rendezvous 2016
Tides are neaps for the weekend. Whilst crowded, Easdale harbour will not dry out. As mentioned by Wilk, there are plenty of boats going back and forth between the harbour at Easdale Island and the mainland. Seafari will also have 2 X 5.2m inflatable dinghies on the move during the busy times.
Wilk -one of the originals, go on sneak some time away, you will be missed. Sunshine and calm seas ordered.
You will note that for the first time Eilean Eisdeal, the community trust is charging £10 per boat per night to moor in the harbour. Should you own a large boat and use one of the Seafari moorings the same will apply.
Reason for the charge - the community intends to rebuild the old island boat shed (currently derelict and roofless) so it can house the community tractor. The tractor is used to move large items around the island as there are no roads and to launch and recover boats. Our old grey Fergie is being battered by the weather and deserves better.
I hope you will agree this is a suitable way of raising funds.

Seems like an excellent idea.
Willk if you're not coming pass my number to Tom in case he needs someone to parade the new Corry for him ;-)

Hi all - just responded to another raft of registrations so hopefully you will have received your confirmations ....
Blueboy 758, not sure whether I have received yours as I haven't recorded a Humber Ocean Pro 6.5m on the last few registrations - If you haven't had an email from me please let me know - you can email me on oban@seafari.co.uk
I have tested the registration forms and all seems ok - please be aware that I don't necessarily check the registrations every day !!

Hang on... you need to be more specific!
Last year there was too much weather with the F8 wind on Saturday night!

Come on Trevor it just added to the expectation of Sunday!! We still managed a week end of ribbing drinking eating and nattering in the true ERR tradition.
Look forward to meeting you as usual. Cheers
Ps will try for flatter seas and sun!!

Tony, that's a welcome idea for visitors to contribute a little something to the maintenance of the harbour area considering all the fun and assistance we've had over the years.
Wilk, sorry to hear that you might be absent due to work. I feel your pain ,but I think I'm going to try to sneak up this year while the wife isn't looking. I guess Poly will have to take more of the responsibility for ripping the pish out of me.
Is "Dantartic" back in time or is he too busy communicating with penguins or feeding young intellectual fillies in the Southern Hemisphere?
