as im not the most experienced long distance rough weather ribber (in fact this is my first over 4 metre craft) and having boated from luing in the past during less than pleasant conditions .will I be labelled an English fairy if I opt out of an oransey attempt should the weather be inclement. and if this happens will other folk be heading in a possibly calmer direction

Hi. Don't worry there's always help around plus people make their own choices and go somewhere else. You can also team up wit someone or bring a buddy and if you don't fancy the suggested cruise go your own way and enjoy the craic at night. Look forward to seeing you.

Good spot to be slip & pontoon sheltered area if you don't do the big one a nice little cruse up under the Atlantic bridge from there stop at the pub then carry on round seal island

Yea that's a good one Jeff but there are many more alternatives in sheltered water.

There have been several hoped for attempts on the longer routes where even the big boats decide it's not worth the battering. Nobody will slag you for putting your boats safety or crews comfort before joining the group - in fact they are likely to commend you for it - we had a great round Seil and Luing trip last year when bigger boats were more adventurous.

Our thundercat will handle some weather but as you say, if it's too rough I will happily go somewhere else. Saying that it's usually fairly calm around there from my experience, lots of islands to shelter from.

Aye, that's SeafariCarolyn back on site getting us organised and ready for the forthcoming season. First of our Seafari trip boats being launched on this evening's tide.
General info, The Oyster Bar at mainland Easdale is under the new management of Lyden and Dawn Singleton. Dawn was born in the area. Lyden was a crew at Seafari for a number of seasons, fell in love and never left the area.

We are intending to be up again for this in Baby Blue.
It's a bit of a trek from Reading but well worth it!
(already booked the Oyster for a meal on Friday night!)

Must dig out the tent! ... and ditto re. catch-up with all the usual crew.
Must also get the boat out for a sanity check run and make sure she still works! (it's been a crazy busy year - I've been out once since the last Easdale ......
And now I think about it, must register as well.....
Edit: Done!
