all of them in Oban I personally don't like the Esso on the outskirts as the traffic moves quite fast on the road when you are trying to get out

If you've got deep pockets, patience of Job & a high grumpy tolerance, you could fill up at Puffin

As an aside, if you have a couple of hours to kill in Oban, have a drink in "The Lorne Bar" on Stevenson St, & eat lunch at "The green Shed" on the CalMac ferry pier.
Also the cafe in the marina on Kerrera does good food & beer (if the weather's nice)

Hi everyone -

Well, the weather here over last couple of days has been typical West Coast Scotland - every variety imaginable within a 24 hour period !

But, we're all ready and looking forward to seeing everyone.

If you'd have looked at the forecast for this weekend a few days ago it would have been all doom and gloom but things are improving.

Friday's forecast is sunny patches with F2 W SW so all positive for a post-arrival warm up blast if anyone fancies it.

Saturday's forecast is improving - it was saying very high winds (gusting 6's and 7's) all day but that has now dropped to SSE F4's, gusting 5's and it is forecast for later in the day. If it is decided that Colonsay and Oronsay are out then we'll come up with an alternative.

As suggested last year we will display the day's routes in the ferryshed on the mainland and at Easdale Island for those who prefer a "later start" and wonder where everyone's gone !

I will book the late ferry on Friday and Saturday nights for those who want it.

Finally, please remember to pop into the Village Shop to say hi when you get here, also so you can register and pay your harbour fees to save Duncan or me having to disturb your evening pints asking for money !!

Carolyn.

Looking like I may not make it again this year😥 took a call from work yesterday to say I'm likely joining a ship to go offshore on Friday/ Saturday.
There's always a chance the job slips back a few days but I'll not know for sure until Friday afternoon which still gives me time to get up as we're just south of Glasgow fingers crossed.
Missed last year because my wife had a baby who we expected early (other 3 were) but he was late so was only a few days old so I couldn't escape.
Can't really say no to work either as works been quiet and they've been paying me to sit as home for the last 6 months so it wouldn't go down well if I said I'm not going even though I would normally if I had something arranged
Was looking forward to it too as the boats all ready to rock

RIBs have started arriving

Seven here so far.
We won't be fishing from the pontoon all weekend. I have a number of options up my sleeve. Just need to finalise the weather for the day. It is breezy from the NW at the moment. Friday it looks calm. Saturday winds are predicted SSE F5 so there is shelter. Colonsay looks unlikely however unless the calm spell extends

Safe journeys

Tony

Bit of bad news - the trailer extension broke today - well a wheel buckled. Blame the guys from Mad Brad but I think corrosion played a part.

Arrived at Easdale after a lovely run up to Glasgow then up the side of Loch Lomond and across to Oban. Filled up at the petrol station on the way out of Oban. Had a couple of pints at the Oyster Bar. Now settled in front of the fire looking forward to launching in the morning. If anybody wants to buddy up tomorrow we hope to be on the water late morning.

Made it to Abington (Just in Scotland) with no dramas - just a lot of traffic and rain! Pam's getting used to the fine dining.
Should be in Easdale early tomorrow afternoon.
