EASDALE RIB RENDEZVOUS 4th & 5th MAY 2024

The dates are fixed as above
The planning
Douglas, James and I met at Easdale's World Stone Skimming Championships.
A bit of a discussion about the format and Saturday night. As the Seafari season draws to a close (and Douglas and James do less boating) we will get on the case to finalise details.
Things under consideration - a more adventurous blast for the larger RIBs
A less energetic blast for others
The opportunity of a focal point gathering on return from Saturday's tours
A specific half day task for Sunday

More details later but rest assured plans for ERR 2024 are underway.

Tony

Me and her indoors might even be buying a new boat especially for the event. Time will tell on this one

Just a heads up that early in the new year we will launch an all new Easdale Rib Rendezvous web site. This will be the place to complete registration.
The event will be refreshed with a different format for 2024 , again all will be revealed in January on the web site launch

In meantime wish you all a good new year.

As of now we have nearly 50 boats registered.

If not yet tempted. A trailer for ERR 2024.

Thanks to Donny Wilcox the Gurnard for his work on the video.

Just a few weeks to go now!.
We're planning on taking Black Adder and sleeping aboard - is anyone else planning on doing the same, and if so, which marina are you thinking of using - Oban, Craobh Haven, or are there any other reasonably sensible options nearer to Easdale?
Thanks
Trevor

Hmm - no, and yes and not sure!... It's "we" as in there will be two of us on Black Adder - but just one boat.
We probably won't arrive until Friday afternoon as we're not leaving Poole (coming via Southampton) until Thursday afternoon, and will stop to sleep somewhere on the way up - not even sure yet if we'll use a motorway travel-lodge or maybe sleep in Black Adder parked up in the trailer parking!
Also not decided yet if we'll launch at Craobh Haven or Ardfern when we do get there - but thanks for the offer.

Fair enough.

Was going to say we have a spare bed in our caravan if you needed it but sod two of you!

When are you heading back south?

Hi Trevor we are also sleeping aboard Ocean Devil and are thinking of Craobh for Fri/Sat night but also open to any recommendations. Can’t wait!
Best Jamie

Less than a week to go till ERR.

There has been a flurry of last minute registrations , taking numbers of boats to 85.

As was planned some time ago. The departure from Easdale will be phased into two groups. One going to Craighouse on Jura , the second bound for Gigha then Port Ellen Islay, both groups returning to Easdale for Tacos in evening .

Sunday will be round Lismore and lunch at Waypoint Kerrera. .

Easdale harbour will host many boats, other will berth in Oban , Luing and Croabh Haven.

Boats from all over the UK and Ireland and a couple from Europe will assemble at Easdale.

It’s been a settled and sunny week of weather west , fingers crossed fine conditions continue.

Is anyone else around on Monday evening?
It’s a decent ish tide for a Coreyvecken trip by my calculations, I’m more than happy coming back in the dark / dusk but wouldn’t mind some safety in numbers if anyone else fancies joining us?

Corryvreckan whirlpools and wave action tends to be better at start of flood tide which I think will be after dark on Monday 6th . Perhaps a late morning visit would be better. Take advice from Tony Seafari regarding the best timings for the best visit times and safety advice for anyone not familiar with the gulf of Corryvreckan
