Easdale RIB Rendezvous, 5th/6th May 2012

Easdale RIB Rendezvous 5th/6th May 2012

We intend to hold this event on 5th/6th May which is the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. The Easdale RIB Rendezvous is a cruise in company event in some of the best UK RIB cruising grounds. Easdale’s fantastic harbour is situated approximately 16 miles south of Oban, Argyll on Scotland’s west coast.
Open to all seaworthy RIBs, last year’s event attracted around 45 RIBs of all shapes and sizes from 4 to 11m.
The event website will be updated shortly. Full details will be posted on RIBnet within the next fortnight. This is an early diary indication to those who may be interested

Tony

What are the launching facilities like on Easdale (been almost 30 years since I was last there).

I'd be interested in visiting with the Inflatable at some point.

Well that's done it. We were planning to be up @ Kyleakin for the week before so it looks like we'll have to head back to Easdale to join in this again since we had such fun last year (Hornet)

Well done Tony! Good to see the locality was up for a second go at it. This was a top event and I'd recommend it to anyone who is considering attending.

Linky for the thread on last year's event.

Jambo, Wilk, Mike
Thanks for the positive support, look forward to catching up again
Zodiac Spindrift - Launching at Easdale is across the stones on the beach but the going is firm firm enough for a 4x4 or a car with reasonable traction - bring a rope just in case
Discomik - it would be good to see you here. Wilk's link gives some indication of what its like here, the dedicated website is up for 2011 still but 2012's event will follow

What sort of mileage is involved on a trip like this just thinking of fuel as I have seen Tonys 110 filled with jerry cans.

I fancy this cruise myself but maybe next year now, that's if you guys have another trip next year, as the dates are too close to the Anglesey cruise, so will after give this one a miss, it would be good to get a few rib from down here to come up for the weekend on the 2013 cruise if that comes off

You're not wrong. I fecked half of mine on that forsaken ground. I think it's an overgrown carpark.

Hadd is Wrong (but otherwise cool ) - Life is short - RIB when you can. The second event might be cancelled. We took a chance on crossing the North Channel twice that weekend and we were back in September. Magic!

Took me an hour to load the 110, 2.5 hours to drive to Redbay, 1 hour to steal prepare the boat, oh, 4 hours to cruise to Easdale...

By the time we got there, we had done a day more than the rest!

Getting there was the fast bit. Going home was a lot more "interesting".

BTW, donegaldan was driving it, not me...
