Apologies, I know Halloween '17 is not yet upon us.

Is there a rule of thumb for when this gathering will take place? Have to book time off waaaaaayyyy in advance.

Also wondering if any other ribbers form Ireland interested in making the journey? By land or by sea.

Rule of thumb is first weekend in May (our bank holiday). My advice is go by sea, the land haul is brutal. If the wx isn't good enough for a grown-up like yerself to go by sea, it's not worth going. Make a few days of it - it's fantastic cruising country.
