Chris,
I will confirm nearer the time if I can join you. If not, it is something I would like to do, may be over a longer duration with the tent. From our discussion on Saturday its sounds feasible.

Just on that note it might be good to set up a couple of weekend trips on the river for next year, i would suggest one trip from lechlade down river as is very pretty down there and another nearer henley area, could arrange to have a gathering on a friday afternoon then get two nights on the river, there are lots of places to moore up, some islands as well which is where we stay quite often, for some places there is a 3.50 per night charge for mooring. but we rarely pay. if the weather is good it is a great place to be, we intend on being on the river a lot more next year now the children are a little bit older.

i will post a cruise invite next year when the weather is better or go along to a meet if someone else arranges it

regards

chris

OK the 12th seems to fit the most number of people so we'll go with it.

Thames Trip

Sounds like a good laugh to have a trip on the thames as i live near Benson (between Abingdon and Henley) and it would be nice to meet up with fellow rib owners close to home. I use mine for safety cover at sailing events all over the country.

Can't make the 12th but if you're planning one for next year, i'm interested, so would like to know further info when its planned.

Have fun on the 12th!

Martin

Lock Closures

I popped in to Windsor Marina while passing this week (still £12 to park & launch by the way). Note the following locks in the vicinity of Windsor are now CLOSED for winter engineering works;

- Old Windsor (reopens 31 March 2006)
- Boveney (reopens 31 March 2006)
- Hurley (reopens 25 November 2005)

I don't do rivers so I might be missing something here, but it seems to me if you launch at Windsor Leisure Centre you'll have access to about about 1 mile of river downstream, launch at Windsor Marina you'll get about 3 miles upstream.

Check the Environment Agency website for more details.

Andy

it seems like the locks will be working against this cruise based on the previous post

Nauti Buoy and I are inbetween boats to be able to join this cruise, my rib is not built yet, the shetland is on the south coast while i refurbish the trailer, nautis avon is up for sale and his new boat is not yet ready for collection by this weekend so based on the limited amount of river available and our problem with boats we will not be able to make this trip i suspect, sorry about that
