Expedition West from Lymington 4pm 26/6 - 8pm 27/6

Hi. Farfetched is leaving Lymington about 4pm on Sunday 24th June and heading west. Provisional thoughts are to make it to Weymouth or even Torquay that evening depending on weather. This is designed to be a relatively high speed cruise.

Then a more relaxed day cruise further West on the Monday, back to spend a second night on the Monday night in Torquay. Return arriving mid evening (8pm?) Tuesday 27th June.

Issues include endurance - where do we fuel, how much extra fuel do we carry.

We would very much like some company. We have space on board but would even more like a second rib to join us.

Any suggestions from SW Ribsters as to where to go to, where to stay (cheap B & B), where to refuel would be much appreciated. We would love to meet up with you.

Lots of places to get fuel from, but make sure you have enough for the crossing of Lyme Bay. Is very exposed aswell so bear this in mind.

Torquay has fuel if that helps at all, and Salcombe isn't much further!

There's a poker run at Drivers wharf on the Saturday - if it's on I might cruise up, do the Saturday and come back with you on the Sunday - we'll be returning to Salcombe though?

You've got my number!

I somehow doubt I will be able to keep up! Seriously, if you are going from Southampton, where do you stop for fuelling? What is your endurance?

I did Poole to Salcombe on a tank with the Optimax pretty much flat out the whole way, we have 200 litres so it should be ok - Weymouth is a good place to stop although I'm not sure if they have petrol as well as diesel?

What do you call a relatively high speed cruise then?

I can do 100nm with safety margin. Starting full at Lymington, how far does that get me??? Where do I refuel??

Fast - 35-38 knots if calm, half that if horrid
