If anyone is interested in volunteering and helping out the IPRC powerboat race that is happening between June 29th and 31st in Cornwall we would like to hear from you.
Loads of boats - possibly up to 50 - will be racing and we need help with looking after the pits, the teams and also on the water with safety boats to make sure they all get round the course.
It isn't difficult. If you haven't been to a race before don't worry. The race runs from Falmouth to Fowey and Falmouth around Eddystone Light.
Safety boats keep any eye out for the racers and go and help if there is any problem. If its anything more than a breakdown they call for help and we send out teams to deal with the problems so its really a watching brief.
Land based volunteers can get involved in administration, pontoon management and marshaling boats, talking to the public, sponsors and fans or any one of a million other things that make the race a stress free and happy experience.
The races are entering as round 2 of the Harmsworth Trophy and World Championships so you would be part of something amazing.
The IPRC is a not for profit club run by racers. We can't afford to pay anyone but we can invite you for a beer and you will be welcome to attend our party in Famouth where you can meet some of the most wonderful people on the water. Our website is

and more details will be updated regularly.
If you can help and would like to get involved or can get your boat anywhere between Falmouth and Plymouth on this weekend please let us know. Drop us a line via the website links. You will be part of a powerboat racing revival and we encourage anyone to become part of the team. We do our best to make EVERYONE welcome.
