Falmouth To Plymouth (Last Cruise for 2005)

OK it was Kernow's suggestion and it looks like we may have a weather window on Thursday.

Sunshine and Force 3 Northerly winds so we should be sheltered by the coast all the way.

Going to have to be 0800 launches again especially for those of you who launch at Par docks as low tide is 10am

Suggest the Falmouth crew and the St Austell crew meet up at Dodman Point or Nare Head at 0900-0930 then on to Plymouth for 1100.

Someone can suggest a good place to go for lunch in Plymouth (I don't know anywhere)

Then about 1330-1400 back to the boats and head for home.

Drop the St Austell crew off at par docks around 1500 for a nice and easy high tide recovery.

Falmouth crew back at 1600 for a twilight recovery.

WHO'S UP FOR IT THEN

OK, this is gonna make me look like the king of welshers! (Which I'm not, I'm up for most things). I've just fired up the PC to book some flights to go skiing from the 28th to the 3rd. It's my no.1 sport! Sorry. We ski as much in a season as the coffers will allow. The kids are all off skiing with schools etc, so Es and I are gonna sneak a trip in to Italy.

OK scratch the Thursday - looks like Wednesday 28th is going to be the day now. (bloody forecasts - I reckon its impossible to plan more than 24 hours ahead in the winter)

Is anybody up for the Plymouth trip on Wednesday - or if not all the way to Plymouth - is anybody even going to be getting there boats out anymore this year.

Come on you bunch of part timers.

Or maybe I pasted myself in? Think I'd have touched the "love handles" up a bit if that had been the case.

Looe is an option - its a bit closer than Plymouth and I've never been there before.

Make sure you give me plenty of warning of the location of the drain pipe - don't want to end up covering my boat in shite

Is there somewhere nice we can moor up and stop for lunch.

Two easy places to park in Looe.
Each by a pontoon. If you dont stay more than a couple of hours its free.

When you come off, turn left and go into The King of Prussia, right on the harbour. Nice big sit-down nosh.

Are you confusing Looe with Fowey - or is there a King of Prussia there too or am I completely wrong

There's a "King of Prussia" in Kingsbridge, but you'll have to wait for floods to moor outside!

I'm sure Brian is thinking of Fowey, how's about we meet up mid morning, pop into Polperro then onto Looe, there's loads of places in Looe or Polperro to eat and drink then we should get you back in plenty of daylight (unless your going home via Guernsey!)

Interesting that the ribbing aspect of these winter cruises is the bit that gets you from one pile of grub to another!
