Fowey BIBOA Cruise 14th July

Evening All

I hope all is well, I have started to sort out a cruise from the Solent to Fowey in Cornwall. We will be leaving on the 14th July and returning on the 19th. So far I have had a lot of interest and several confirmed boat leaving from the Solent and Poole.

Fowey is a fantastic place to cruise to and arond, there are lots of very good places to go from there.

If you are free over this period and would like to join what looks like being one of the biggest events this year please let e know as soon as possible as I have a lot of arranging to do and there will be limited space etc.

I hope many of you can join us and weather permitting we will have some fantastic runs from Fowey.

See you soon

Julian

Hi Julian,
I should be around then and as I'm only just "down the road" from Fowey, I would anticipate popping up and joining you for at least a couple of runs, or if you're going to be heading westward from Fowey then I can always meet you off Falmouth.

Cheers

Hello Mr Priddy, yes definately do not try and tow your boat through the high street, you may find that it wont fit through. I think Dad was hopeing you had forgotten about that.

If there is anywhere in particular you want to visit just let me know and were pop in and have a look.

For accomodation this seems to be a good site http://www.fowey.co.uk

Moorings are a problem at the moment but we have a man sorting that out for us, fingers crossed we should have our own pontoons.

Hope to come along, crew needed

Hello Julian and all RIB cruisers.

This sounds a great trip and I have booked the time off work (and from home!). I would ask if you hear of any one who wants to crew to pm me. They can do this directly too ofcourse.
conversly if I cant find a crew I would be pleased to join and assist on another RIB if they are short crewed.

Boat is Humber Ocean Pro 6.3, launch would be Solent.

response eagerly awaited

Paul

I hope to at least be at the Plymouth Class 1 event, we have magazine commitments for reviews, as well as an ongoing development programme and customer demonstrations so we're a little busy!

Final Details Fowey

HI All,

Just to keep up to date etc, So far I have confirmed 10 Boats for this event, I also have a possible 4 more but they cant commit at the moment, All boats leaving from the solent will be paired up so everyone has at least 1 boat aroud them as a backup, There are several new people on this event and people who have never been on a cruise or been so far on the boats.

We will use VHF CH 77 for the run, my mobile number is 07837650180 and the boat name is Scorpion. The smaller boat will gather at Old Harry Rocks near poole to meet up with similar sized boats, leaving from there at 8.30am. I will leave at 9.30am and catch up, planning to rest off Dartouth and have a bite to eat etc, once were all gathered were pick up another boat off Plymouth and all run into Fowey together,

Once settled in Fowey we will be visiting Plymouth for class 1 powerboat race, Falmouth , Mevagissy and if nice weather have a run round lands end.

If anyone else has a place that they want to go to just let me know and were see if we can do it as well.

If anything changes I will let you know,

See you in a couple of weeks.

Julian

FOA of Jon Adlard

Hello Jon

Julian has suggested we liase over meeting up for the trip down.

I could launch at Calshot (known quantity) or somewhere near youself (Poole?).
Are you launching on the Thursday morning and if so where? I would need to leave tow and trailer safely for the duration?

please either e-mail me or PM me your contact details and then we can talk through some options.

Julian asked how much fuel I carried (was it enough for the trip directly) Yes I am OK, could do it in one.

I look forward to speaking in due course

Paul

I seem to remember that Julian knows the short route -- through Start Point instead of round it!
