Excellent day up here too, hot, very sunny, and not a lot of wind-my sunburn hurts!
Silly season has started though - daughters lifeboat had two jobs yesterday. Blackpool boat had a call last night and today have been to a particularly nasty accident with a jet ski colliding with one of the blackpool piers. A fatality and a serious injury apparently - ok some are a pain at sea but nobody and no family should have to go through that sort of trauma.

S'alright for you lot on the coast innit. I'm stuck here inland, with nowt but the hills on fire for entertainment. Certainly great weather though, been talking to people from the continent and they're jealous as anything.

Stuart
I was over in the Solent and parked up in Yarmouth for a short time.
The day started off with me rescuing a boat that had run out of fuel. They insisted on giving me £50 so all-in-all I was up on he day. Now that doesn't happen very often!
And I have a nice red face to remember the day by.
Cheers
Mark

Cool, it's always nice when someones thanks is Tangible. I did notice that a lot of breakdownss where being called in. A rib charter company's boat had packed up outside the Hamble and had to be towed in by the Harbormaster

It was a cold night for an open boat or maybe you could just steer her from outside the cabin whilst sunning yourself on the aft deck ,till the weather changes. It was a brill day for all boating

I was out there yesterday for about 5 hours, 11am to 4pm ish. Loved it. I did see an Avon rib under the toll bridge, was that you Stuart? I was in an orange tornado with light blue tubes. Mostly I cruised about the river has I had my sprog with me but did venture down southampton water once or twice. Great day, water still very cold though!

Me wife's been up, just south of Mallaig, staying with a friend and her parents. The weather was so nice, the friend's mum went swimming, and she's 93 years old! Jeeeez...
Looking across to Skye, I'm sure we could see PF travelling by with his wings out .

Nice up here too!
A couple of very nice hours blatting around the Calf of Man in my new toy....4 or 5, a few white crests. Almost rescued a 'fast fisher' on the way back but he got a tow from a SIB (yes a SIB!) before we reached him.

oo-er what a difference a day makes-freezing today until the sun came out and then just bl***y cold! Apparently another jet ski incident in the estuary yesterday when 2 of them collided head on! No injuries as it happens but some very damaged kit. Scary things and scary people.

Jetski dramas
There was a girl about 18 - launched her jetski in Laxey Harbour yesterday.
If you've ever been to Laxey you'll know that the river runs down the harbour and there's a 'wall' to separate it from the sea.
Fine going out, cos the wall was uncovered, but on the way back in she was the river side of the channel....
Frantic waving of arms as she tried to cross it further up the harbour - just got over it with a little scrape!
No idea!

Jizm,
I was on a little blue Scorpion yesterday and we may well have seen you. we were going under the Itchen Bridge around 13:00. The southampton water was similar to thew M27 with all the traffic
AP
We were out today, and yes I got soaked and as I was a passebger I had plenty of time to contemplate a larger consoloe or indeed a cabin Rib. It's a shame I don't fit into my drysuit anymore

Mark,
Were you back in Yarmouth on Sunday for a "short time" ?
We moored outside a spanking diesel Scorpion, close to the slip on the high water at lunchtime. Went into the Kings Head for a few Spotty Chickhens (Speckled Hens). Kept sending the kids out at intervals to see if it had moved, and our new tubes were scraping the walls, but it stayed resolutely in the same spot for 3 beers, 1 chili, and a double scoop ice cream from that place on the pier, and was still there when we left.
If it was you :-
a/ Cracking looking boat.
b/ Thanks for the fendering
c/ Are you one of those people that says "just popping out for a loaf of bread, dear" and then re-appears 5 days later without any bread ?

Easter Saturday
Hi all,
Well my self & Ribald managed to get on the water on Saturday morning, went round to try & meet up with Biboa guy's to follow across to Bembridge for lunch, well that was the theory.
Got round to Halying to find everyone had gone 30 mins earlier, met Brian & son Mike with New 7.5 Ribtech + 225 Hp Honda!!!
Sory cannot pronounce name of boat. We paired up & headed off to Bembridge via Eastney trying to catch up others. Well I can only say that the day & weather conditions proved very INTERESTING Force 6 Plus I belive. Thanks AP for the warning on confused seas. Although very knackered by time arived at B/Habr. I did enjoy it!!
May our way to the Vine for Lunch to find no Biboa, they had decided not to go. So we enjoyed the hospitality, Brian vouched for the quality of the London Pride. Once fed + watered we maid our return trip, wind/sea had increased but bow on still made for a great ride home. Sorry no picture to publish of journey but I think Ribald has one of the pub.
A Bloody good day was had by all 4 of us.
Regards

Stuart,
That was before we even got to the pub
Anyway, thanks again Kevin - a brilliant trip. You should have no probs with the rough water handling part of the Advanced course
Only sad thing was that there were no PWC's out to play with - I thought those tough folks liked conditions like what we had Did see a mad (and very good) windsurfer off Bembridge though and a few yachties looking quite green and bouncing very well
