Only port doing petrol is our marina here in Reykjavik all other places you have to rely on jerry cans or we could have prearranged petrol truck, plenty of time to get that sorted.
Will you be attending RIBex ? if you do we could meet up and discuss matters a bit more detailed, could bring some charts for you to take.

I am hoping to go with three other friends to share the costs would be nice to have another boat for company it will be a trip of a life time, Willk are you interested in coming?
bogib I will be able to carry around 1400ltrs with the deck tank she will do just over 400nm at full tilt and around 620nm @30kts so I should only need to refuel once hopefully, but I would prefer to run light only on the under floor tanks. What the story with accommodation? How many days weather permitting would it take to go around and see some of the sites? What/ where would you recommend to go?
Mollers I have being using a 9m Excalibur with a 315 yanmar on a bravo 3 in my dive centre for five year now she’s a great boat. I have being planning this new boat for about two years now she will be ready for end of May (fingers crossed) I will post a few photos when there is something to look at.

Regards fuel in Lewis - there are no dedicated marinas, however there are plenty of piers, and with a little planning you should be able to get petrol/diesel in jerry-cans or larger containers. Price-wise, it's always going to be more expensive than mainland UK. It's currently £1.11 a litre in Aberdeen for a litre of unleaded, and in Stornoway it's £1.22 and rising!
If you were leaving Donegal and heading north - a logical route would be to land in Tarbet, Harris. It's a Cal-mac ferry terminal so has a good sheltered harbour with services. From there head through the sound of Harris and up the west coast to West Loch Roag in Lewis. It's a natural sea loch and probably your last chance for fuel (Miavaig), before heading for the Faroes.
You could speak to Murray MacLeod. He operates Seatrek out of Loch Roag at Uig and regularly does runs to the Flannans, St. Kilda, etc, and would be able to advise on when would be a good time of year to go. He's a very knowledgable skipper with lots of experience and has been to the Faroes before. http://www.seatrek.co.uk/
This gives you an idea what the west coast of Lewis is like especially around Mangersta, (a few miles south of West Loch Roag). Enjoy.

Srsly, I've spent six solid weeks kicking around Iceland in a 110, having tramped most of it except the far NE corner. Bogib is the man to keep you on the rails as regards ribbing over there. He has more connections than the National Grid . I've got to say though - it's one vast and forbidding island and even by our reckoning, it's deserted

Danish Kroner (non Euro) - You'll need lots of 'em
It's a brute of a trip, currency wise, Euro - Sterling - Danish Kroner - Iceland Kronur. Torshavn is good craic, for a day. You'd be best using a card for most transactions, or withdrawning from an ATM.
