Hi all,
Firstly thanks to Brian and Charles for all the effort in arranging this. Charles, in the PM I sent you I forgot to mention the boat name, that's "Hectic".
Have now booked the hotel room and agree wholeheartly on the suggestion to eat (and drink!!) at the hotel. Looking forward to meeting you all and putting faces to the names!
(Wavehumper - any chance of the Ribnet burgee's by then ??)
Regards,
Dave

Errm, from what I recall I think it would be a problem at LW for a larger RIB. But no problems given the tide times it would seem.

Gavin and I have booked into the hotel and ferry tickets are booked also......No Hysucat is comming though, for 2 reasions
1 we dont have the time of work for the extra traveling......
2 we dont fancy a 800mile tow from Dublin and back
We will how ever be bringing our drysuits etc and will hope to bum a lift on RIB?????........
IS this going to become an annual thing?????
The lady in the hotel was amazed when I told her that this event came from an internet discussion group.... I know a lot of you know each other... But It shows the power of the Net or should I say RIBNET.......
See you all in Plymouth.....

Maybe JK is shy?
Imagine, all those ribsters strewing rose petals in his path, wafting him with palm fronds and crying "Hosannah, he is come!".

Sadly chaps, you have picked the weekend of the Hockey County Championships or I would have made the effort to come down to Plymouth.
(I'm team manager - far too old to play)
If there is a gathering 'up north' (no not Orkney!) please put it on the forum and I'll try and get there.

I have just spoken to Roy Martin of the Invicta Hotel who tells me he is filling up fast!
All singles have already gone!
May I suggest if you are going to the meeting, and want to book into the Invicta, you do so asap.
Charles.
How about AP and co.?

Have booked in te Holliday Inn instead.
Er in doors (is outdoors most of the time like me) wants a posh hotel with a jacussi and MOST IMPORTANT connecting rooms for the children.
However, we will be with the Group most/all the time.

Hey, no problems Manos.
Stay in whichever hotel you wish. The H.I. is only about 400 metres from the Invicta anyway.
Glad to see you all there, that's the most important thing.
We will probably run down with you from Brixham anyway won't we?
Also, probably launching at Brixham will be Andy Mickelwrights and family in "Awesome" and Chris in "Brotwo", both aluminium ribs so you shouldn't miss them.

I need to ask a question but don't want a fight! why are so many people launching so close to plymouth? I thought the whole difference between you ribbers and us gayboys was that you thrive on long journeys in open water and we just hang around the slipway!

Cruise
Hi Jon
If i can make it I will be going by sea from Isle of Wight, some people may live a long way away from plymouth so its easier to tow down etc, + the cost of fuel for a trip like that in a petrol boat would be huge for only a couple of days etc.
Julian

I'm launching from Exmouth because
a) If I launch at my nearest slipway in Bristol it leads out to the Severn Estuary and thats down the wrong side of England for Plymouth. Definatley to much open water for a weeken jaunt.
b) I have a caravan approx 4 miles from Exmouth so can go down there on the Friday night and launch Saturday morning feeling nice and relexaed not having spent several hours in a car.
