IOM Peel camping trip Saturday 21st June
Rather then resurrect the thread Rocky started a while back i thought it would be easier to start a new one seeing as its only just over a month away
The plan is to leave Ty Calch Caernarfon around 9.30 on the Saturday morning head over to Peel arriving around lunch time. We will have to leave the Ribs outside on the harbour breakwater till 1700hrs after which we can enter the inner harbour for the night.
Departure on Sunday morning would be available till 1000hrs so we have to be up and packed away by 0900HRS
http://www.gov.im/media/1153978/peel_june.pdf
The campsite is just over a mile away I've spoken to Terry's taxi service in Peel who can transport us and all our gear to the campsite and back to the harbour on Sunday morning, so be prepared to be up, packed and ready to leave no later than 09.00hrs on Sunday morning
Terrys Taxis - Isle of Man
The campsite is £7.00per person per night
Peel Camping Park, Peel Campsite, Isle of Man
I have arranged a meal in the Marine Hotel (its just a restaurant ) on the Saturday night for those that fancy a walk back in to Peel for a few and a bite to eat
Marine Hotel PeelÂ*|Â*Marine HotelÂ*|Â*Isle of Man
Ian (Cypman) informs me that fuel is not easily available at Peel but he has a few kerny cans so we will cope but if possible try and carry enough
So far we have

Rocknrolla
Kerny
Tim and Linda

I will be around for the duration and will have fuel cans in the car.
There is a very good pub close to the camp site (The Highwayman) for those that don't want to go "down town".
Let me know what you want.

I would have been up for this, complete with builder ar*se off and with my windjammer on but I have booked a week in France from 18th June. Hope you all have a good time, I'd rather be coming on this but family commitments!!

Yes will definitely be up for that tony. I have just got some lobster pot and gonna go put them out today, hopefully they will last a bit longer this time and not get pinched. Is there an Ireland trip planned for this year?

IOM Peel camping trip Saturday 21st June
Nearest garage is 1 mile away apparently fuel is a pain on the IOM
Cypman (Ian) as kindly offered to help out with this so I'm sure everyone need not worry to much.
How much will you need roughly ?

Fuel Situation in the Isle of Man
Petrol
There is no dockside petrol in the Isle of Man. It is only available from garages in your own cans. The nearest garage is Brown Bobby's which is about 1.5 miles from the jetty in Douglas, or at Ford's garage about 1 mile from Peel Marina. As far as I know there is no “can” limit on the amount of petrol you can purchase in one go. You will need sufficient cans and taxi/other transport to fetch the fuel.
Diesel
There are two dispensing points at the dockside. One in Douglas, right by the landing staging and one in Peel, just outside the flapgate. Operation requires you to purchase a fuel card from the Fishermans Coop (boat chandlery) right by Peel Marina. It is only open Mon-Fri office hours. You must state and buy the exact amount that you will require. You must then take your boat to the discharge point, put your card in the machine, enter your code, climb down the iron stairs to your boat and refuel. It is definitely a two man job as the machine will time-out before you descend the stairs!

To be honest Tim I could be wrong but I can't see you getting through 300 litres of fuel to IOM and back.

Tim it's about 78nm to peel from ty Calch so you'll probably use the same fuel as you did going to Ireland & back 👍
