IoW Mon 6th Sept?

I'm planning a trip around the Isle of Wight next Monday 6th. Weather and sea look good, tide gives me launch/retrieval between 9 and 3 so a 6 hour window. Leaving from Chichester, clockwise so St Catherines to Needles will be at slack water, travelling with the wind.

Anyone care to meet up for all of part of the way? Saw dolphins in Freshwater last time I was there..

Sadly didn't see dolphins and if they were near the Needles then the pesky jet skiers might have frightened them off.
Was going to see Old Harry but then thought better due to falling tide and went to Mudeford instead. Followed a Trent class lifeboat 'Dunbar' all the way up the Solent before I changed course at Bembridge. What's that doing this far south?

Clockwise is definitely the best route because it keeps the sun out of your eyes. Sea was like a glassy mill pond. Think I used 40 to 50 litres of fuel which I thought was quite good. Will know for sure when I fill up again.

Excellent. I've just been checking the boat over and packing the car as I think I'll head down to Beaulieu in the morning and pop over to the island for a spot of lunch. I've a feeling it could be the last really nice day of the year and the children are back at school.

46 litres for 99.5 miles/86.5nm = 2.15m/litre or 1.8nm/l
that's with a 50hp Suzuki
